She let out a quiet, humorless chuckle that barely masked the pain underneath.
“For the sake of my career, and because I owe it to myself, not to any of you, I’ll clear your minds,” she said firmly. “Because this is my life, my problems, my mess to deal with, not yours. I truly don’t understand why people feel entitled to spread rumors and then expect me to clean them up.”
The hall stayed silent. The only sound was the faint hum of the camera's recording.
“Franklin Blackwood is my ex-husband,” she continued. “We were married ten years ago, and divorced long before I met George. And I was never pregnant for Franklin. Never.”
