A LUNA ON CONTRACT
But just as we were about to leave, a small, sweet voice called out behind me.
“Luna Scarlett?”
I stopped and turned, my gaze falling on a little girl with wide eyes and a daisy flower clutched tightly in her tiny hand. She stepped forward timidly,
“I picked this for you,” she said, holding out the flower.
A warm smile spread across my face as my heart softened. Gently freeing myself from Callum’s grasp, I knelt in front of her, my eyes level with hers.
“Thank you, sweetheart,” I murmured, with a shy smile, she reached forward and tucked it into my hair.
