Salem had a larger population than I had originally thought. Amber knew all of the historical details and often shared them with clients who queried about them. She had framed pictures all around the store of all of the witches who perished during the trials. A sad and tragic time in history. A time that still saddened Amber. A time she would never forget even though she wasn’t a part of it. "I won't!" Livia's eyes were red. She was past the point of caring. "You know why she's given up completely? You think it's just a tantrum? You think it's because of the family's law? Dante, she's known all along that you've been deliberately swapping the lots!" Dante's pupils contracted sharply. He went cold. "What did you say?" He advanced step by step, the pressure radiating from him terrifyingly. The barely contained violence made Livia instinctively retreat.

Sahara was bursting with rage to the point where her hands were trembling slightly, even her skin was numb as she was still in an extremely excited state. She walked into Salem's study with bloodshot eyes. Salem had never left the room on this day. He had witnessed everything that happened with his own eyes, but he didn't show himself. The door was closed, leaving only the two of them in the study. Salem sat on the chair while looking peacefully at the sky outside the window. The room was a bit dark since the lights weren't switched on, but the ancient styled round window was open, allowing a little light to shine in.

The gates were open revealing a garden that was overgrown and running to weed after several weeks of neglect. Their approach was noted and by the time they reached the door, Phillip Salem had opened it for them. “Finally,” he said as he stepped back to let them in.

Salem 1692 Kira’s legs worked hard to forge her slight body down the narrow, snow laden deer path that took her from her family’s cottage to the nearby village of Salem. She’d managed to slip away from home just as the sun peeked over the horizon. If all went well, she’d be back in her room before the family expected to see her rise and none would be the wiser.

They walked a few blocks, and arrived right on the Main Street of Salem. Caitlin was surprised. She had expected something more. She’d heard about Salem her whole life, from textbooks mostly, always in connection with the witches. But to see it as a real, living place, as an everyday town, she found quite strange. She had imagined it as a perfectly preserved, historic place in her head, almost like a stage set. To see normal, modern, everyday people living their lives, driving, hurrying to and fro, caught her off guard.
