Everything about the day was ordinary, beautifully, deceptively ordinary. Cassian and Celeste squealed as the tide tickled their ankles, running up the shore with buckets in hand. They were halfway through building a lopsided sandcastle kingdom, Celeste’s fortress had seashell guards, while Cassian had engineered a working moat with filtered water channels. Arla-Rosa watched them from her spot beneath a pale linen parasol, legs folded, a book resting unread in her lap.

Completely unconcerned. Just as everyone began calming down from the sanctuary's dramatic announcement, the castle decided it wasn't finished. The first blackboard remained floating proudly above Xander's crib. FUTURE KING OF THE SANCTUARY Chaos was still laughing when another blackboard suddenly materialized. Then another. The room fell silent. "Oh no," Hunter muttered. The floating chalk appeared again. The second board drifted toward Riot's crib.
