Beasts of the Moon
We both turn as a massive blue werewolf bursts through the crowd and lands in front of us.
A scream tears from my throat. Gerald pushes me behind him and shifts instantly. Bones snapping, muscles stretching, the air thick with the sound of transformation.
He plants himself between me and the beast. They stare each other down, a silent war in their eyes.
I can’t move. Fear anchors me. Other Silver wolves join Gerald, forming a wall of fur and muscle. Other blue wolves join the first wolf. My surroundings tilt, darkening at the edges. My heart slams against my ribs hard. I’m just a puny human here. Fragile, soft, easily torn apart.
