Second Light
Right after I said that, I saw a spark of anger in his eyes, and the way he talked to me got kind of bossy.
"Keep on living? What did he do to you? Tell me!"
I could not figure out why he got so worked up over a simple sentence. Yet, I could not shake the feeling that his words were laced with worry.
I quickly shook off that thought. After all, I had barely seen him a few times, and then, with my youth long gone, why would I be of any concern to such a golden boy?
"Mr. Lloyd, regardless of what he's done to me, here I am, standing right in front of you, aren't I?”
