Shatter Me Series Age Rating Novels & Stories

Lila’s eyes widened in shock. Her hand was still inside her soaked shorts, fingers covered in her own wetness. She froze against the wall, heart pounding hard in her chest. He towered over her, inked knuckles flexing at his sides. Sweat still ran down his muscular chest. His voice came out low and dangerous. “I know exactly what you’ve been watching, little girl. Every filthy video. Every time you touch that pretty pussy thinking about me.” Lila’s face burned hot with shame, but her body betrayed her. Her nipples stayed hard against her tank top. Fresh wetness leaked out of her and soaked her shorts even more. She couldn’t look away from him.

The sound of glass shattering against the wall was satisfying, almost cathartic. I didn’t stop there. I grabbed another picture and threw it with all my strength, watching as it smashed into a million tiny pieces on the floor. Then another. And another. It felt good, so good to destroy every reminder of what we had been, of the man I thought I knew.

Not with control. With messiness . With memory. With the taste of tea and the ache of love and the starlight in the Child’s tears. The core cracks . Axiom howls, reaching for us as the first fissures race up their pristine robes. "No! You’ve ruined it—" The shattering takes them first. Their perfect body explodes into prismatic shards, dissolving midair. The core follows, its pulse stuttering, the Scorch-wave freezing mid-expansion.

But he doesn’t know me. He doesn’t know that every ounce of pain I’ve endured in my life has turned me into something sharp, something that bites back. He doesn’t know that I don’t just break, I shatter , and I take down whoever’s closest when I do. I feel the nausea curling tighter in my chest, but underneath it, something else bubbles: anger. No. Rage .

“You’re reshaping them.” “No,” I said. And then I saw what the shard had been waiting for. Not rage. Not a battle. Not vengeance. But a decision. To create instead of destroy. To be more than a weapon. I drew back, panting, and with a sudden return to sanity. The shard buzzed out dimly. The children blinked as if unfamiliar with the sky. Then the youngest of the three glanced at me, saying under his breath, “I don’t burn now.” I'm nearly broken. And I sat with Lyra swinging my feet on this cliff above Mirrorvale, so high above, on its peak. She offered me a swig from a flask of something raw and sour, and we let the cold consume what had turned mute between us.

I made sure they paid—in the cruelest, most humiliating way possible. I tore my father’s company apart, crushed his legacy, and gathered allies who wanted him ruined just as much as I did. And just when I thought I had nothing left to lose, I found my fiancée in bed with my half-brother, Gregory. Chanel had been the last illusion I had about love. And when that illusion shattered, I stopped believing in anything. I swore off women. I lived recklessly, throwing myself into work, into power, into winning.

I was beginning to get intrigued by the conversation and I was glad I didn't allow the awkward side of me to win. “You may be right. I don't even know what exactly is the problem with me. I haven't been able to move on from a heartbreak and a betrayal. It's crazy.” “Heartbreak? Trust you to say that another son of Adam broke your heart? Come on, girl. Those men are not worth crying for. I have been there. But, now. I'm single as fuck and free as a bee. Fuck those men, sis.” I almost chuckled at the way she sounded. Her swear words were also crazy and I didn't quite expect it from her.

Am I peaking at twenty-six, destined to spend the rest of my life mourning the fact that I’ll never meet another man who commands my pleasure the way this one does? Shane doesn’t let me come. Not once. He brings me to the edge over and over again, easing me away from it every single time. By the time the credits roll, I’m shaking so hard, he has to pin me to his lap to keep me in place. He circles my clit slowly until the last name scrolls past and the movie returns to the menu. “Good girl.” “Fuck you,” I grit out. “Want me to kiss it and make it better?”

"Rule three. You do not talk to the press. About me. About Luna. About anything. If a journalist approaches you, you say no comment. If your mother leaks something, you stop her. My privacy is not negotiable." "Agreed." "Rule four." She paused. She had been rehearsing rule four in front of a mirror in her suite for three hours. "Rule four," she said, "is that I am not going to sleep with you." His eyes flickered. "I did not ask." "You were going to." "I might have thought about it." "You were going to." He did not deny it again. "Aria." "Damien." "Can I say one thing? And then we can go back to rules."
