Ruby’s POV ​The penthouse living room on Friday afternoon was a sprawling canvas of elite, calculated chaos. It was flooded with the brilliant Manhattan sun cutting through the floor-to-ceiling glass windows, illuminating the deep velvet couches and the heavy marble coffee table. Massive racks of the most exclusive, unreleased haute couture gowns from Paris and Milan lined the foyer, creating a vibrant wall of silk, tulle, and obsidian velvet.

Alissia POV When we step out of the lift, I’m struck by the luxury of the penthouse, something I hadn’t fully appreciated before. The ceilings soar high above, giving the impression of a private world separated from the chaos below. Enormous floor-to-ceiling windows showcase the city like a painting. Everything gleams—rich hardwood floors, marble accents, plush furniture arranged with an effortless elegance that somehow still feels imposing. Each corner holds some piece of art or sculpted furniture, giving it a sense of timelessness and opulence.

These people expected me to act a certain way, and anything less would result in my being kicked out in the cold. The Madam led me down a long hallway lined with more unsettling portraits. Ari felt butterflies in her stomach. “Your friend must be really rich,” she said to Alex. Lisa smirked but said nothing. Alex only smiled. After a few moments, the elevator doors opened. Ari stepped out—and froze. The penthouse looked like something out of a movie. The living room had floor-to-ceiling windows showing the entire city skyline. A huge crystal chandelier hung above a modern white sofa. Expensive paintings decorated the walls.

Collins ordered, stepping closer. Susan let the bag fall to the ground with a heavy thud. “What's the meaning of this,” she said, her tone dripping with disdain. Justin motioned for Collins to check it. Collins knelt, unzipping the bag and rifling through its contents.
