I whisper to myself after a couple of minutes staring at the painting. I shake my head and eat a piece of slice melon. I know life is so hard to deal especially if things didn't go as we planned but then it would be more difficult if we always reflect reality into fantasy. Life doesn't have a happy ending, it's a constant cycle of good and bad, happy and sad, life and death. Sighing, I continue putting spread on the slice of wheat bread when suddenly someone tapped the table making me flinch. My both eyes are both wide open as I met Vicenzo's stare.

If I wanted a modicum of a normal life, I needed to make an effort. Picking up another slice of pizza, I reveled in the way it tasted. How would I ever be able to go throughout life without being able to indulge in this? It was almost unfair that I was going to be leaving soon. I was going to miss the things I have come to experience and enjoy so much. I was grateful though that I had been able to at least get a taste of what life could have been if I had been born like a normal wolf.

I said. My face was pale as death, and a nagging ache twisted in my stomach. It was an old pain that had been with me ever since I spent those three years in that cellar. Every day, I ate stale bread and lumpy mashed potatoes that had been sitting out forever. The bread was so thick and dry that it was almost impossible to swallow. Panic flashed across Henry's face. It was something I hadn't seen in ages. "Sabrina, I swear I didn't know! Do you think I'm lying?" he asked.

“This is a mess.” “Yeah, life as a whole is a big mess. But you know what makes this mess of a life bearable?” Mia raised her head and looked at her, but Bianca hadn't looked away from that muffin. “Living.” She finally looked away and regarded Mia with kind eyes. She picked one muffin and threw it at Mia. She caught it, not taking her eyes off Bianca. “Living makes life bearable, Mia, love. I'm not talking about simply existing—just drawing breath into your lungs and living on autopilot. I'm talking about real living. Seeing the beauty in every damn little thing. Like how this muffin is so good, I could cry from my overflowing love for it.”

After I unzipped the compressed file, I played the video. In a church that had seen better days, a young man, looking to be about 18, was playing an old piano. The sunlight streaming in illuminated his bleached shirt, causing him to almost glow. The clean, innocent vibe he gave off was like a breath of fresh air, a gentle spring breeze caressing one lightly. Despite only half her face being visible, it was clear from Sylvia's profile that she was smiling gently. Her gaze was also full of adoration as she lost herself in the soothing music.

Quilton offered me money to help me settle down, but I was too young and unwilling to accept a handout. Thus, Quilton followed me every day, handing out flyers and collecting bottles in the snow. He'd get so cold that his nose would run uncontrollably. Later, when my stepfather tried to steal my tuition money, Quilton got stabbed while trying to protect me. In his daze, he said only one thing. "Let me protect you." After that, it felt natural for me to get together with him. I had once vowed to build a good life on my own, but later on, Quilton gave me that life instead—so much so that I ended up thinking Quilton was utterly devoted to me.

And the next, life thrusts you into a rollercoaster of pain and negativity that doesn’t slow down, not even to let you breathe.

We presented each other the pieces of cake and when Rai took his I felt his tongue tease my fingers. "Seriously," I mumbled softly, my mouth full of cake. He smiled back at me with his mouthful. The children soon lined up, anxiously waiting for their piece of sweetness. Rai continued to cut pieces as I put them on paper plates and handed out plastic utensils. After the cake had been served to all of our guests Rai pulled me to the seat next to him and exhaled deeply. "So this shall be our life from henceforth," he stated in a questionably manner. I grinned slightly and shrugged glancing over at the guests.

he replied, winking at me. “I think your plate would disagree.” I was in a good enough mood now that I tried some of the casseroles. One in particular wasn’t half bad, and by the time Brandon came back, I felt a lot better. I was beginning to realize that the thin line between life and death was more like a wave that didn’t always crest or break at the same point. Nor could you catch it in your hands without it slipping through your fingers.
