The physical pain, sharp and intense, barely compared to the crushing weight in my chest. It was over. Everything was ruined. My hands, my mother's dreams—everything was shattered in that single moment. Tears streamed down my face in heavy, relentless drops. Ryan rushed toward me, pulling me into an embrace. I leaned silently into his broad, warm chest, but the words that came from above were as cold as ice. "I'm sorry, Susan. Please, forgive me just this once. I know this isn't fair to you. But Miranda's mother died saving me. Once she makes it into the orchestra, I'll have repaid my debt."

Nathan’s fists clenched at his sides, and I could see the barely contained rage simmering beneath the surface. “I’ll kill you before I let you tarnish my name any further.” I felt a pure fear in the pit of my stomach, but I refused to back down. Not anymore. Suddenly, a low growl echoed through the hall. Favian appeared beside me, his eyes glowing with fury as he stepped between me and Nathan. “I suggest you rethink your words.” He said his voice deadly calm. Nathan sneered. “This doesn’t concern you.” Favian’s hand shot out before Nathan could react, landing a blow that sent him crashing to the ground with a sickening thud. Gasps rippled through the crowd as everyone stopped to watch.

The Shadowed tendrils crumbled into harmless nothingness. My breathing was ragged. A fleeting smile touched Cassius’s lips. "Good work." His words died in his throat. My eyes widened in horror at the new shape charging from the shadows behind him. It was different. It was silent. A Silent Scourge. It moved with a terrifying speed that was utterly soundless, a blur of skeletal limbs and impossibly long claws that didn't even scrape the stone. Its eyes were like burning embers, locked on Cassius.

Despair etched across his face as his comrades fought desperately. Abel, barely escaping a Lycan, found himself surrounded. After valiantly holding his ground against numerous foes, Scoop began to waver. All eyes turned to Logan, their last hope. A shocking howl reverberated, marking the unleashing of his full strength, a horrifying spectacle to witness. Logan's body shattered the sonic barrier with a resounding bang, leaving a trail of purplish radiance. He materialized before a Lycan, bringing his palm down swiftly.

I took the hospital gown which Nicole had thrown over to me and quickly disappeared behind the curtain I had changed behind earlier on, shifting back into my human form, I hissed as I finally felt the effects of the wound. The pain was worse than what I had been feeling in my neck two days' ago and when I looked down at the size of the wound, I knew that I was going to have another scar to add to the collection I was slowly gathering. But at least this one was a real battle wound. Damn silver. I am going to have to have words with the Moon Goddess about that. You do that and perhaps I won't have a hideous scar to show for my idiocy once the would heals.
