It wasn’t someone who was after me but it was indeed my wolf. “Are you my wolf?” I asked, just to be sure I wasn’t mistaken. The tingling sensation came again. “Yes, I am and my name is Rora.” The voice answered. I didn’t know whether to be excited, happy, or overjoyous. For the first time, I could hear the voice of my wolf. Like, she was talking to me right now.

Callum’s voice bellowed, “Reid! What are you doing?! Let go! You’ll kill her! Reid! Let go!” Callum rushed forward to separate them, but just as he reached out, a hand lightly pressed on his wrist, making him freeze. It was Sora. Her face had turned red, her eyes slightly unfocused, but oddly bright—as if something was burning within them. Callum’s pupils contracted, and he paused in shock. Sora gave a strained smile, her voice hoarse as she whispered, “Don’t… don’t stop him. Let him… cough… to die by his hand would be… cough cough… my greatest honor…”

Sora wasn’t listening to anyone. Not the fairy guards. Not my father. Not even the Fairy Queen herself.. The wolf’s eyes stayed locked on me as if the rest of the world no longer existed. The corruption surged again beneath my skin. Sora lost what little control he had left. His claws hit the glowing floor hard enough to crack stone as he pushed harder toward me. “No!” Mom shouted again. The symbols around me flickered dangerously. “Johanis, control your wolf!” “I’M TRYING!” We could hear him scream. But Sora wasn’t trying to be controlled.. that was the problem. As he was terrified. I could feel it through the mate bond now beneath all the rage and violence.
