Savage
When I look I see a strange mark on my neck, etched in the same gold that was used in the magical binding ceremony.
“What is it?” I ask her.
“Some call it a love rune, others call it a binding rune,” she says, then looks up at me. “I guess it’s both. Our love binds us together for all eternity, my love. It will also allow you to walk in the sun without needing the rune I made you. My light and love now live inside of you for as long as we live.”
“Forever,” I say to her.
“Forever,” she says and I kiss her again, one of trillions of kisses that I intend to give my mate in our very long life together.
