I say to the stranger. He smiles and nods. "It's not a problem. It's not the first time I've stopped a man like that and, unfortunately, it probably won't be the last." I nod and cross my arms over my chest. The stranger appears friendly, protective almost, based on the way he inserted himself into the situation. His voice is calm and reassuring after experiencing such an unwanted encounter. We stand there in an awkward silence, unsure of what to say to each other. I avoid meeting his eyes.

The closer she got, the more the air thickened with that strange familiarity. Not Moon. Not Stone. Something… buried. Something like the echo she sometimes caught when she looked in the mirror and did not recognize the woman staring back, only to realize she was seeing her mother’s ghost in her own features. Not fully into the thick-necked solidity of age.

But there was something about this man that made me hesitant to engage more than necessary. “Perhaps,” he said with a slight nod, a mysterious smile playing on his lips. “But don’t be a stranger, young lady.” I gave him a polite nod before exiting the room, closing the door softly behind me. My mind was a whirl of thoughts as I walked down the corridor. The whole encounter had left me with a strange feeling, something I couldn’t quite put my finger on. And then, just as I was lost in my thoughts, I collided with something solid and warm.

As their eyes met, she felt a spark of recognition pass between them, and in that instant, Barbara knew that her life was about to take an unexpected turn. The stranger's expression shifted, a glance of surprise and intrigue crossing his features as he recognized her in return. Instinctively, Barbara knew that this unplanned encounter would further complicate the tangled web of her life, but in the face of the uncertainty that lay ahead, she found herself oddly comforted by the presence of this enigmatic stranger.

Just then, I bumped into someone tall and muscular. "Oh… pardon me. I did not see you." I said without looking at the person I bumped into. "Oh no! Pardon me for jumping into your game as an uninvited guest. But what can I say, little creature. I have a job to finish." The strange man said. I looked up at his face with a frown on my face. He chuckled seeing my frown. He came closer to me. I wanted to step back but I was not able to move a muscle. He came to me and touched the pad of his thumb with my forehead. I gasped as I felt something sparking into my brain and then, everything went dark.

What contributed much to this state is an actual rush of blood. It was one clear, Sunday morning that forever corrupted some of the files in my memory and no amount of re-formatting will ever restore everything in place. I was not fully aware of the impending danger on that fateful day otherwise I could have averted the ensuing predicament altogether.
