A bucket of water was poured over April's head, it had jolted her awake so rudely and without warning that her entire face was still dripping from the cold water. April opened her eyes, she saw her hands and legs were chained and she wasn't in the store room, where she was looked like a dungeon, a dark cold dungeon.
Shocked at receiving such treatment, she struggled to free herself from the chain but felt sharp thorns piercing through her skin. April whimpered in pain as she stared at the chains with sharp thorns used to chain her. "I'd advise you not to struggle to free yourself unless you want to get hurt." She heard his cold voice echoed in the dungeon as he took a seat watching her as she whimpered in pain. He seemed to find pleasure in seeing her in agony. "The next time you try to run away from me, your mum and your best friend, Mandy or whatever she calls herself would also be punished." April felt her knee weakened as she heard his threats. She knew this man was not bluffing, he was capable of hurting the people close to her but why? Why was he doing this to her? Why was he being so cruel to her? What did she do to deserve this kind of treatment?"You're a monster, you disgust me." April cursed with so much disgust. She hated him, no, she loathed him for treating her this way. Locking her in a cold room and chaining her like a slave, she hated him for that.Damon scoffed as his lips curled into a savage smile. "I don't think you have any right to call me a monster judging by the thing you've done in the past."April let out a weak sigh as she rolled her eyes. He was at it again, talking about the things she had done in the past. What exactly did she do in the past that made him despise her? What past was he even talking about?"Past? What exactly did i do in the past?" She sneered. "What on earth did i do to deserve this ill treatment? What exactly did i do wrong to deserve all these?" Her voice echoed in the silent dungeon as she let out a loud, doleful wail.A long pause of silence evolved the dungeon as those two persons kept glaring at eachother. If looks could kill, they both would have been dead by now. Seconds ticked by but still none of them uttered a word causing the already quiet dungeon to become more quiet that they could even hear eachother's heart beat. "You want to know the reason why I'm being cruel to you?" His deep voice echoed breaking the silence. April's eyes which was filled with hate and disgust widened a little when she heard his question. She had been dying to know the reason, the reason why he was treating her this way. She really wanted to know the reason why he was after her life. Even though she wasn't expecting much from him, she still hoped he revealed the reason why he was hellbent in killing her. "Three hundred years ago, a powerful witch waged war against the vampires." He started, with his gaze glued on her. April rolled her eyes as she wondered how this story related to the reason why he was cruel to her but yet, she still listened as she might get a clue from his story. "She killed thousands of vampires and also......." He paused in his explanation and tore his gaze off her as he looked down staring at nothing in particular. For the first time, April saw him struggling to utter a word, he gritted his teeth as if this was a conversation he had never wanted to have and that made April curious, she wondered what it was that made this demon this way. "She killed....." He paused again, struggling to control the rage that was boiling in him. "......She killed my wife and cursed me." He said, in a steady whisper, that was no more than audible. April could feel the sorrow and bitterness in his voice but she still wondered how this story related to the reason he was after her life. "You must be wondering how it all relates to the reason why I'm cruel to you." He said in his usual cold manner that made April wonder if he was the same man who sounded sad some seconds ago. April couldn't help but bit her lower lip as her curiousity was getting the best of her. She was eager to know the reason he was after her life, the reason he despised her so much. And just as if the demon sensed how curious she was to know the reason from him, he paused for a long while. She clenched her fist as she felt like punching his face and make him spit out everything to ease the suspense she was feeling. "It was you, Margaux." His lips twitched as anger overflowed his eyes. "The witch who cursed me three hundred years ago was you.""It was you, Margaux." His lips twitched as anger overflowed his eyes. "The witch who cursed me three hundred years ago was you." April stilled, gobsmacked by what he had just said. 'She? She was a witch? She cursed him three hundred years ago?' She snickered as she found it hard to believe. Was this demon messing with her? Did he actually expect her to believe him? She had not even dealt with him being a demon and now what? She was a witch? "You don't believe me?""Who would believe the gibberish you just said?"Another long pause of silence followed, his gaze stayed glued on April that she felt like the demon was slowly seeing through her deepest soul, as though the gods bestowed on him the power to examine every human's deepest secrets.April's heart skipped when she saw him rise from his seat, walking closer to her. Each step he took caused her heart to pound faster. She would be lying if she said she wasn't scared of him, she was really scared of him even when he wasn't in h
Damon walked into the living room thinking about what he had just seen, no, she had revealed it to him. 'Why? Why did he....' He scoffed, he seemed to have forgotten who she was, she was a powerful witch, she was capable of manipulating his mind. She probably revealed that to him to save herself so he wouldn't kill her. "That cunning witch." He cursed and turned when he heard footsteps approaching. Dana, Connor and the ginger haired witch Lemuel entered the house. Dana had brought Lemuel along with her to avoid being alone with Connor. She bowed when she saw Damon fold his arms as he approached them. "I was told you asked for me." Dana said as she raised her head to look at him but quickly looked down as she couldn't stand his intimidating aura. "I need you to look into the memory of a human." Damon replied going straight to the point. Dana furrowed her brow at what Damon had just asked her to do. It was something outrageous and forbidden for the witches. "It is forbidden for
Dana alongside with the ginger haired witch entered the dark dungeon and they were welcomed with the sight of a weak young lady chained. They couldn't see her face because her head was facing down. She looked weak and exhausted as if she wouldn't survive a day in this fiery pit. "Is this the infamous Margaux? She looked so weak." Lemuel was the first person to speak when they entered the dungeon. "Is it okay for him to chain her this way?" He added as they approached April, staring at the weak human before them as she whimpered in pain. April slowly raised her head when she heard his voice. She first caught the sight of the ginger haired witch then noticed a stunning young lady about her age beside him and by their looks, she could tell they weren't human like her. 'What are they? Are they also demons?' She asked herself inwardly. Then she began to wonder why the demon sent them here. This was the first time she would see other persons apart from the demon himself. Since she
Dana watched April as she was slowly drifting into sleep. She heard her scoff and mumbled some words before finally shutting her eyes. Dana touched her forehead only to see she was burning, her body were unpleasantly hot which made Dana wonder when Damon had actually abducted her and dumped her here. She could tell that the demon didn't feed her anything ever since he brought her here. No wonder she was so weak that she couldn't even stand on her own. In spite of how vulnerable she was, he still chained her in that dungeon. She knew she wasn't supposed to be sympathetic towards her judging by what she had done in the past but still, she was reborn as a human,he knew how weak she was, could he be this cruel? She stared at April's pale face, the thoughts of looking into her memory crossed her mind but she immediately brushed it off, now wasn't the right time to think about it, she told herself as she stood up to take her leave but then turned to look at the sleeping human. L
Connor walked into the living room and watched Damon sitting on the comfortable looking lounge chair by the window quietly staring out of the window. It was already near dusk and he knew it was a routine for Damon to sit on that lounge. He shook his head as he stood right beside him. "Dana has healed her wounds but she has a high fever and she needs to be treated." Connor reported the situation at hand. Damon eyes still didn't leave the window despite hearing what Connor had just said as though he didn't give a damn If the young lady dies and goes to hell where she initially belongs. "So?" He said lazily scratching his brows. "I was wondering if you could.......""Never!" Damon immediately cut in as if he knew what Connor was about to ask him to do. Connor wasn't surprised by Damon's immediate reply. What was he expecting? He knew Damon would never agree to it, it would only be weird if he agreed to it. "Then, permit me to bring Mr Jonathan here.""Was she badly hurt?" He asked.
Dana stood from where she was and left the room not replying Lemuel's question. The ginger haired witch could only sigh when she left the room leaving him alone with the witch turned human. She entered the living room and saw Damon sitting at the lounge chair by the window and as if he sensed her presence, he turned to look at her and gestured for her to sit which she did. "What did you see?" He asked as his voice echoed in the quiet house. "How could i possibly see something when you couldn't? You already knew her memories were hidden yet you still called me here, i doubt you called me here to confirm your suspicion. Why did you bring me here?" Damon sighed loudly as he heard her question. "So you couldn't see anything?" He asked as the corner of his lip curled into a smirk. Dana gritted her teeth when she heard his reply, he was obviously avoiding her question and she didn't know why she felt he just mocked her for not being able to look into Margaux's memor
Connor, Mr Jonathan and the twins Sam and Pam entered the dull looking living room, they couldn't find a single soul in the room not even Damon. "Follow me." Connor said as he took them to where April was. They entered the room only to find her still unconscious even when Dana had already healed her injuries. Sam and Pam's mouth were slightly opened as they couldn't believe they finally got to see the infamous witch. Just like the witches, the vampires had also told tales of the evil witch. Even though Sam and Pam lived in the human world alongside with their uncle Jonathan, they had still heard of the tale of the evil witch from their uncle that was why they had insisted on coming here with him when they heard Connor telling their uncle about the evil witch. "I can't believe i finally got to see the infamous Margaux." Pam said staring at the sleeping human on the bed."I'll leave you to treat her." Connor said as he excused himself searching for Dana. He really hoped she h
"Uncle Jonathan, is this really the infamous Margaux?" Pam asked as she watched Mr Jonathan treating the defenseless human before them. She was told the infamous witch was scary but this human before her was nothing near scary. "I'm also doubting, why would Connor bring you here to treat her? If she is really the infamous Margaux, why didn't they just kill her?" Sam was the one to ask this time. He had also heard of the malicious deeds she had committed in the past and he couldn't quite get the reason why she had not been killed yet, if she was a threat to the vampires then she ought to be killed not treated. "Since you two have nothing to do, why don't you two go prepare a meal for her to eat?" Mr Jonathan said not sparing a glance at the curious kids beside him. He knew that if just allow them to stand there and watch him, they would keep inquiring about Margaux so he had to keep them busy that was the only way to keep their mouth shut. When he didn't hear them move, he t
