“You can’t go through that again. If you die this time, Mercia won’t survive.”
I let out a groan and picked up my pace, my wheelchair moving faster down the corridor. The guards standing outside my chamber opened the doors, and I rolled inside without waiting for Damon to follow.
“That’s why you need to tell the alchemists to make the potions stronger,” I said. “I can’t afford to show weakness. Not now. Not with everything that’s coming.”
“You’re not weak,” Damon said. He stood beside the table near the hearth, arms crossed. “You’re the strongest Lycan alive. No woman, not even one bought at an auction, can change that.”
