He had some candles everywhere, books scattered to the sides, and some rats were even walking around. I blinked. I don’t recognize him, but I know him. If I’m not mistaken, he’s the necromancer who could do almost anything. “Please make me stronger,” I said without thinking. The necromancer looked at me “Who are you? Your blood is very active.”

Sickly groans and yells left the corpses as one by one burst into nothing under the force of the searing light. The necromancer's smile twisted into a grimace of rage and shock. She stood from her crouch and I was aware of her shoulders shaking with fury. But it didn't matter. The necromancer took a step over where Idris lay collapsed on the ground. She smiled evilly in my direction and I knew what she was planning to do. Quickly I opened my mouth to scream again but as white light escaped my lips, she formed a black wall of smoke that cocooned her.

Everything inside me goes cold all over again, the flicker of hope that had been there extinguished. I stare at him, dully, knowing it is not Lucas. But it is Lucas. Lucas’s memories, Lucas’s voice, his face, his hands. He begins to walk away from me, as if disgusted, and despite the shock to my system, my eyes catch some thing from the corner of them. The necromancer is standing on the balcony, holding a black spear which is both thick and heavy. His eyes are gleaming as he looks at Lucas’s back. And then he throws it with a speed that is terrifying.

Their mouths gaped, sewn shut with thread that glowed faintly, trapping centuries of screams. They had once been warriors. Wolves. Mages. Leaders. Banished, betrayed, erased. Now, they belonged to me. A figure emerged from the skeletal trees. He was tall, draped in rotting velvet that reeked of earth and decay. His face was hidden by a jagged mask fashioned from bone. The Necromancer. “You summoned me,” he rasped, his voice grating like stone on stone. “You know the price.” I rose to my feet, my shadow stretching across the poisoned earth in ways no living thing’s should. “I’ve already paid.”

Damon’s panicked voice reached me through the haze. Before I could shift again, the air around us crackled with raw, terrifying energy. A deafening clap of thunder shook the room as a storm of dark lightning struck down, obliterating the shadows and taking the necromancer with it. I froze. Standing at the center of the destruction was Heather.

I feel myself tense, my babies start to move in an uncomfortable way, and I lay on the grass trying to find a position that would calm them. As I look back to Caleb, I see him blowing more deadly fire at Ignitious, causing him to shield himself. I hear whimpers and my head snaps to the origin of it, there I see the necromancer I hurt, leaning to the big object, and pouring his blood into it. The symbols start to glow, and the strange object seems to react to the liquid by absorbing it. I watch in shock how the creature drains himself of his life essence to give the machine-like object, life.

The rest of the story was irrelevant at this juncture. “The Necromancer class is a great class, but it has a fatal flaw. The caster must be capable of seeing all that he controls, or else he loses the ability to control them.” Chief Priest Kaka frowned as he waved his hand, summoning a gust of wind that cleared the dust before him. On his hand, one of his many rings shone with a green hue, and the wind that Chief Priest Kaka summoned came from it. “Clear the smoke,” Chief Priest Kaka instructed Village Head Samoa, and the latter’s eyes lit up like a lantern. A green glow escaped those dead eyes and pierced through the dust cloud, clearing it all away with a single look!

I feel like a new me us being born and the past me us being erased when I feel a new energy take over my body. By the time I come back to the ground, I am filled to the brim.
