Post-Divorce Remorse
Before I left, I met Ivy one last time.
“Julian, I know I was wrong. Can we go back to how things were?”
Standing there, heavily pregnant with teary eyes, she begged me to remarry her.
Never had I ever seen her humbled herself like this before.
Perhaps, she truly regretted it.
Alas, it was all too late.
Forcing myself to stay calm and hold my temper, I said, “You’re carrying another man’s child. How am I supposed to marry you? You don’t really think I’m foolish enough to be someone else’s fall guy, do you?”
