100 Nights of Forbidden Fire
“Your eyes tell a different story than your words.”
A blush, hot and shameful, crept up Susan’s neck. She looked away, her gaze snagging on the rough texture of Kayla’s worn jeans, the slight bulge of muscle beneath the denim. “I don’t know what you mean.”
“Oh, I think you do.” Kayla’s hand, surprisingly gentle, reached out, her fingers brushing the stiff fabric of Susan’s wimple, tracing the line of her jaw. The touch sent a jolt, sharp and electric, through Susan’s entire being. “You’re aching for something, aren’t you? Something forbidden.” Her thumb stroked Susan’s cheekbone, a feather-light touch that felt like fire. “Something… real.”
