I had like five minutes to get to my baby-sitting job which paid me very well, I really didn’t to screw it up. Mr. Peterson was waiting at the door step per usual. He never missed a second. Just an old seventy something charming man in his wheelchair, a novel in his hand, awaiting his favourite babysitter (his words, not mine). I knew what he was eagerly waiting for; to read me a story.

Allie adjusted her wedding dress and said excitedly, "The wedding is next week. Are you sure you can be my maid of honor?" I thought about it and replied uncertainly, "I'm not sure whether I can take time off." Then I poured out all the strange things happening at work, ending with a sigh. "The Alaskan Malamute I take care of seems off somehow. Do you think I should take him to a vet?" At some point, Allie stopped what she was doing and stared at me blankly. "Kelsey, what kind of job did you just say you were doing?" "I'm a pet sitter. You told me to apply for it at the pet shop. Don't you remember?" I said as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

“You look lovely.” “So do you.” Their smiles remained perfectly in place. Yet somehow…The atmosphere felt different. Pamela’s gaze drifted toward me. “What are you all talking about?” Vanessa answered before anyone else could. “I was just thanking Clare for taking such wonderful care of Max.” Pamela looked at me, then back at Vanessa. “Oh. She’s just doing the job she was hired for.” Vanessa smiled calmly. “I’m aware.” Pamela folded her arms. “I just mean…She’s the dog sitter.”

Rainfall in Whirthbourge wasn't very admirable, especially if one was driving. The road would be steep and slippery, causing tyres to swerve. She parked her car and walked into the first hotel with just her handbag. It was a five-star hotel. Alfred thought he could swindle her, but he had another thing coming. The hotel clerk took one look at her and squeezed her face in disgust. “I'm afraid, ma’am, we can't let out a room to you,” the girl said. “Helen, this is my hotel. Stop playing stupid and prepare my room for me,” Mary said, feeling irritated.
