Territorial Table And Tavern Novels & Stories

The tactical map table in the high keep was not made of wood; it was a slab of raw volcanic glass, cold and dark, imported generations ago from the smoking islands of the deep eastern shelf. Under the flickering amber glow of the whale-fat torches, the map showed the true scale of the sea-wolf territories—islands of jagged obsidian rising from the deep, surrounded by treacherous, swirling vortexes that only a native navigator could thread. Now, the carved iron ships representing the High Alliance armada were clustered at the edge of the glass, like black locusts preparing to swarm the coast.

she whispered urgently. “One minute.” I was already pushing the door open before she could argue. The room smelled funky. Yuck. I moved to the table, the maps caught my attention. Most of them were marked with locations I didn’t recognise, but then one caught my eye. “Uhm.” “Is that??” Yes, you guessed right. The BlackRiver territory. And right at the border, marked with a red circle and what looked like a meeting point, was a symbol I knew right away..

Emma sat in Patricia's apartment Tuesday morning, staring at a whiteboard covered with diagrams that looked like a military battle plan. Her coffee had gone cold an hour ago, but she was too focused on trying to understand pack territorial politics to notice. "Okay, let's go through this one more time," Patricia said, pointing to a map with different colored zones. "The Northern Territory Confederation isn't just one pack, it's five smaller packs that work together." “Five smaller packs.” Emma studied the map, trying to memorize which colors represented which territories.

Adrian kept Mackay hidden from the world, making him officially dead. Mackay was sent back to Novena and then to Falconia, becoming one of Adrian's informants. Gazelle Tavern in the Southern District was accessible only to specific individuals and not open to unfamiliar customers. Gaining entry was difficult; those who could enter were from major families, powerful forces, or friends of powerful figures. The entrance to this tavern was exceptionally secretive. The door was embedded into the wall and so well hidden that even with a magnifying glass, one might not find the crack.

Nila says. She walks toward the table, her heels clicking on the floor with each step. She stops right between me and the empty seat, leans in to kiss my cheek quickly, then sits down. “You must be Mr. Terry. I’ve heard you own the biggest casino in the city. Maybe Adrian can take me there one day, and you can show us around. I’ve never been to a casino,” she says with a sweet smile at Terry, then turns to me. “Honey, could you please move the knife? I’m trying to have a conversation here.”

Unlike everything at the natives' cavern courtyard, where they ate were organized into a strict hierarchical structure. They were urged to sit at the loud table beside the tray drop-off notch. Past their tables sat the sea of patrons of drunkards who’d made it into the tavern alive, on their left was a group of volunteers sanctioned by rank to the single head table at the other end of the dim-lit little hall.

The tavern was filled to the brim. Noise pressed in from every direction as soon as we entered, patrons laughing and shouting over one another, goblets clinking, orders for ale being barked across the room, and servers weaving through the chaos with hurried steps. Helory stayed close at my side. I held her hand tightly as I guided her through the crowd toward the small table I had bribed one of the maidens to reserve for us. “Here,” I pulled out a chair for her. “Sit.”

Unpolished views across the planet. Leaping ogre Taproom, a cheap eatery that sat on the edge of Telflamm, surrounded by makeshift merchants' stalls on wheels. There was some local music playing in the background with a section of people playing pool at the heart of the tavern. There were other nights when some couples would just drink themselves silly and make out. This was one of those nights and one person wasn't particularly pleased by this when she could hear the heavy breathing of the two
