Alana’s POV “My name is Alana, the supposed Luna of Moonlight Pack. Today is my coronation and wedding to Alpha Jared…” I paused, contemplating whether it was safe to say my story or not. “Okay, so why are you here?” I looked down, weighing the risk of exposing myself to this Alpha against the possibility of being returned to the prison. Suddenly, he picked up a blade placed on the tray beside him, inspecting its sharp edges with an unsettling calmness, and said, “You have just one minute to speak. I don’t mind spilling your blood right here, and trust me, my blade never misses.”

But before I could, the flaming doorframe above us gave a loud crack and started to collapse. My pupils constricted. I didn't even have time to think before I instinctively threw myself over Cloris to shield her. I expected the searing pain from the flames to follow. But… the pain never came. Instead, I heard a muffled grunt from above. I looked up, and there was Nick, in wolf form, bracing his entire body under the flaming doorframe. He held it up with sheer strength to shield us from the collapse and make way for us to run.

Instead, I placed the contract on the table, slow and deliberate. “You’ve already read it,” I said calmly. “So we can skip the posturing.” The Alpha at the head of the table smiled, though it didn’t reach his eyes. “Careful,” he murmured. “You’re in wolf territory. You’ve got nerve walking in here.” I remained standing. “I don’t waste time pretending I don’t.” A subtle shift moved through the room. The Alpha tilted his head slightly. “You think this deal protects you?” “No,” I replied, just as calm. “It makes me necessary.”

Ruan: With each passing second, the rhythmic tapping of my fingers on the wine glass grew as I perused through the document. "Alpha, elder Silas is here to see you now" my tapping stopped and I lowered the wine glass, staring at my house help that just walked in. " Let him in" I said simply. I wasn't expecting visitors from the pack today but elder Silas was not a mere visitor. I still had memories of him watching me train in wolverine control, eyes glinting with the pride my father's eyes never held.

Chapter 29 – The Alpha’s Game The council chamber was colder than the courtyard had been, though no snow crept through the stone. Cold here came from silence—thick, deliberate silence that pressed down like a weight. The fire in the central pit smoldered low, smoke curling toward the rafters, the scent of pine and ash threading through the air. The Alpha stood at the head of the long table, hands braced on the carved oak, his shoulders drawn taut beneath the heavy cloak of authority.

"Not yet. But my alpha, he says when I turn seventeen next month, he's marking me. Says it's tradition, says I should be honored. But I don't want it. Don't want him. And everyone says you can't refuse an alpha's bond, that trying to fight it kills you. But you did. You fought and lived. So I need to know how. Please." The desperation in her voice was familiar in a way that made Amelia's chest tight. She'd been this girl once. Terrified and trapped and looking for any way out. "Come inside." She stepped back, letting the girl enter. "What's your name?" "Kira." "Okay, Kira. Sit. I'll make tea and we'll talk."

“Is that what you want, Thorne? For me to demand that you take no other woman while we have this contract between us?” He watches me, his eyes narrowing in search of something. The longer I look at him, the braver I get. Unless this is my mind suddenly becoming clouded with stupidity. Yeah, that’s probably it. Why else would I- a human who is so much weaker than him- provoke an Alpha? Instead of waiting for his answer, which seems like it isn’t coming, I ask, “When does this contract end?” “I decide that, and it won’t be long,” he answers, and I can only hope he’s right.

"But Father made me Alpha. I have to protect the last of my line. I need to show them I can be trusted as an alpha." Rose reached across the table and held tightly on to her hand. "We’ll stand with you. Whatever you decide." The words brought a small comfort, but Serena knew the road ahead would be lonely. She pushed back the fear and doubt. If she was to sign the contract, she needed to understand exactly what she was getting into. She had to get revenge for her pack. She had a duty as both lawyer and alpha. And to fulfill all that she needed Dominic's power and influence.

Mandy “What are you waiting for, Alpha? This is a disgrace to your name. I see no reason to go after this marriage.” The rest of the Black Moon council murmured loudly in agreement. “He betrayed your sacred engagement and offered her body to others like a slut. Do not disgrace yourself any further, Alpha. Leave that woman,” another one demanded angrily. “That’s right. It will be easy to replace this bitch!” They all turned around with their stabbing glares. Up to now, as I continued to be hurled with insults, Alpha Lucas remained in his spot. He uttered no words nor showed any reactions upon hearing my pregnancy.
