What did you do to him that was bad enough to merit his revenge?”

“What makes for good revenge?” His need to express himself overrode his initial desire for silence, and without waiting for her response, he continued, “is revenge even worth it if it doesn’t bring lasting satisfaction?” His gaze locked onto hers, his thoughts spilling out. “I’m thinking true victory lies not in retaliation, but in transformation. It’s about turning adversity into opportunity, emerging stronger, wiser, and more resilient..”

“Revenge.” “What?” “It's simple, Steph. Your life was almost ruined because of your fiancé and his secretary. Don't you want revenge on them?” He asked, his voice holding a mischievous edge and I shuddered “I do. But—” “Disappeare for two years, Stephanie. Your death certificate will be signed. Stephanie will die today. But you'll return as a different woman. As my wife.” He explained, and I froze in shock. “What?”

"Are you doing this for the right reasons?" Elena looked at him, confused. "What do you mean?" "I mean, are you exposing Mark because it's the right thing to do? Or are you doing it for revenge?" But because I had spent so much of my life seeking revenge for the loved ones from my past, that I had forgotten to enjoy the present. A delicious irony if there was ever any, made even funnier by the fact that I was still, in one way or the other, bound by that life of vengeance, even though I had long carried out my revenge.

I screamed at him as soon as I barged in, he removed his glasses and looked at me with a calm smirk. "I asked you something." "Well I don't think I did something wrong so I don't find it necessary to answer you." he said standing up and coming near me. "Wrong? Everything is wrong. Do you know how much difficulty I had to undertake so that my new name could be created? At least do you know what will be the complications of this absurdity?" I asked him and I am sure he can see the fumes coming out of my years. "Revenge is sweet, senorita."
