"You lazy fool, what the hell are you still doing sitting down here?" Her stepmother raged, "Are you thinking about Alpha William." She smirked. "You better get him out of your mind because he is way above your league." Jane could feel inside of her cringe at her step mothers words. "I…I.." Jane stuttered, her head downcast "Enough with the stuttering, it's past dinner time, and you are still here." She yelled. "You better behave yourself or face more consequences for your clumsiness." Her father chided. "You must not be reminded of your duties every other day."

On my birthday, Jake handed me two bucks and took me to a gas station to buy a lottery ticket. Then he dashed off, claiming he had an urgent work meeting. As I sat alone in the restaurant celebrating my birthday, I spotted my boyfriend, who claimed he had no time for me, having dinner with another woman. Without a second thought, I sent him a breakup text right then and there. Two days later, that lying jerk had the nerve to demand I return the lottery ticket. Seeing the look on my face, he quickly tried to explain, "I’m just used to helping out at home. My mom’s always bossing me around. It’s basically muscle memory. Don’t read into it." I didn’t argue or make a scene. I kept my expression neutral and carried on with the dinner as if nothing had happened. Only after all the guests had left did I turn to Deanna, who was clearing the table, and say calmly, "Let’s get a divorce." She slammed the dishes down with a loud crash and glared at me. "Seriously? Over something like that? Just because he tied my apron once?"
