The Forgotten Heiress: Rise of The Lycan Queen

The Forgotten Heiress: Rise of The Lycan Queen

The heat curled around her like a cloak. “Then cross it,” she said, voice ringing in the hush. “Take your truth into the fire.” By midnight, two hundred souls lay unburied: children, elders, the sick. Those who lived dug graves by torchlight, weary arms collapsing as they laid the lost to rest. Pyres burned across the fields outside Hollowgate, flames ringing the camp like unanswered questions cast skyward.

Sacred Flame

Sacred Flame

“I love you, Avery, and I intend to show you that every day from now on.” This moment triggered a memory. **Flashback** I was at the orphanage. It was shortly before I ended up in Naga. I was being chased through the woods by a group of mean girls and the guys who clung to them. I had no one, because Tim had been adopted out. I ran and ran. I got good at hiding, too. They had passed below me. I was up in a tree. I watched them turn back toward the orphanage, so I tried to make my way down. I was very high up. My foot slipped, so I put it on another branch, but that branch broke. I tried to hang on, but it was no use. I fell. As I was falling, I accepted my fate. I would die out here alone, f

Dangerous Liaisons: Love in the Shadows

Dangerous Liaisons: Love in the Shadows

His cry reverberated through the desolate cemetery, echoing the torment that now consumed our souls. The explosion had cast a ghastly shadow over the serene scene, engulfing the surroundings in a surreal and haunting light. The once serene gravesite was now an unsettling scene of destruction, marked by the flickering flames that greedily devoured the remnants of Clyde's family's final resting place. In the midst of the chaos and devastation, Clyde's despair was palpable, etched into the depths of his being. His face contorted with unfathomable anguish, his eyes mirroring a profound loss that words could never capture.

My Seven Gorgeous Women

My Seven Gorgeous Women

Chase immediately headed to the nearest shop to get some candles and flowers. It had been a full 12 years since the fire at the orphanage and the deaths of the orphanage director and other orphans. Half an hour later in the middle of the cemetery of General Hills Cemetery Zone B, there was only dead silence. It was a lonely atmosphere. A young woman was kneeling in front of a grave while sobbing. “Grandpa Gideon, it’s your death anniversary today. I’m here to see all of you again.”

The Lycan King's Rejected Mate

The Lycan King's Rejected Mate

The last gift that only I could offer to the woman who had loved me. I stretched forth my hand and released a torrent of fire to torch up Granny’s raft. I made my flames into tiny fireflies and butterflies that perched on her one by one. The butterflies came together and rested on her forehead like a crown of fire as Granny’s whole raft went up in flames and she was lost to our world forever.

FIRE & ICE

FIRE & ICE

Our child. I didn't know how long I sat there. I couldn't move. I couldn't speak. All I could feel was that heavy, familiar pressure settling into my chest-the same kind that had haunted me for years. The grief. The trauma. The way my soul still bled from the wounds I thought I'd buried. Alice. Elizabeth. Two chances I never got to hold. Two pieces of me that slipped through my fingers like smoke. And now, a third. But this one was different.

To Kill a Butterfly

To Kill a Butterfly

As I looked across the street trying to find another way inside the truck stop, I saw my best friend Teresa crouching behind a box. We sat there for a moment. I looked around and saw a bat, and I threw an apple at his head. He bent down to pick it up. I jumped off the box and slammed the bat down on his head. He fell unconscious, some blood spilling from his head. Teresa walked over to me. “Just another day in Zamora, Mexico.” “Yeah.” We heard a grunt. I turned around. “Awe man, did I not hit him hard enough. I thought he was done for. “

GONE ASTRAY

GONE ASTRAY

“You remember my girlfriend, Akira Basilio.” “They know who I am.” Akira grinned before waving a hand towards the tombstones. “Hello.” The burnt candle wicks crackled and it made the flames dance for a second, almost as if Nanang and Papang were actually present there responding to their gestures. All Soul’s Day pulled emotion and symbolism from anyone who has lost someone, but Akira knew better. She knew that flames dancing was just the wind, weird images in the mirror were just lighting tricks, and sleep paralysis demons who watch people in their sleep were just products of an overactive imagination.

Miranda exclaimed," don't say that. Claudia and I still need you here with us. I don't know what I will do if you too left me." " Oh dear, you should now by now that death will come to us in one way or another, living in denial will not do you any good." " I know dad. I just don't want to think about it." " Ok okay let's go inside now and I must say,I love how you are taking care of mom's roses." Claudia said. " Thank you honey, I remember how Clara used to devoted herself to these flowers. She would always say that if reincarnation was real, then she would want to come back as a red rose."

Rejected to be His Luna

Rejected to be His Luna

He said with a slight bow. “It will be my honour,” I said with a faint smile and then we walked through the wisteria forest which led to Mayu’s grave. Amidst the wisteria trees were maple trees surrounding Mayu’s grave. I immediately became conscious. There were two things I was concerned about — first the memories I would see near that grave and second the etiquette of kazumis when they visit a grave. I was literally sweating as I stepped closer to her grave. Hikari plucked some wisteria flowers and the short branches of a maple tree. As I went closer to the grave, I could see fireflies hovering around the grave as if through their light they were still mourning Mayu’s death.

Absolutely loved reading this and I’m hoping there will be sequels that will answer some of the questions about some of the characters and what’s happened to them. Love the twists & turns plus it’s not a predictable plot. It’s not like other books so it’s refreshing.
