Novel & Cerita The Inadequate Heir

he said carefully “They’d been dating for two years. He didn’t choose her, chose her stepsister instead” I closed my eyes yes briefly, so that was it. Rejection. Humiliation. And betrayal. No wonder she’d unraveled at the bar. “And the family?” I asked. Alex didn’t hesitate. “Unpleasant. Step mother controls most household decisions, father’s present but does nothing” The usual. “There’s something else” Alex hesitated, then continued “The council called before dawn” I leaned back against the desk “And?” “The succession didn’t take place” Alex continued “without you present, it was impossible to continue”

And somewhere beneath the soil, a new seed began to stir, waiting for the rain, waiting for the light, waiting to become something more. The heir had planted her tree. And now the next heir would do the same. THE END

When he reopened his eyes, his expression hardened as he glared at Clara, saying firmly, “What they did last night was enough trouble... Those two are not getting married... It would just be another reminder of the failure that child is, at making something out of himself.” Staring at her hand in Ethan's grip, Nina smiled as he led her downtown, and the warmth from his touch made her forget that they were in one of the most dangerous parts of the country, where the crime rate is high because those that live here were those of low income and poverty striking folks. “Sorry for making you walk this far, but Mr. Hester is really a great tailor, and since he made my first suit three years ago, I

Grandma asked "There's no even need for that. The first and last one are quite easy but the second one is going to be a bit difficult so if you can pass the other two stages and meet the exact requirement, you'll automatically become the heir or heiress. The person with the highest profit wins and it must be two companies" she added "So..... Who are we starting with? Since we have only one male here, starting with him won't be a bad idea. John Campbell, step forward with your ledgers" Grandma said and I heaved a sigh of relief

“You’re not ready for this. We’re not ready for this. You think I want a baby? Hell no.” I could see the confusion, the hurt in her eyes, but I couldn’t afford to back down now. She had to see reason, had to understand that this wasn’t some fairy tale. I wasn’t going to play the role of a father, not when I hadn’t signed up for it. She shook her head, her hands trembling as she reached out to touch the bottle. “Nicole, no, I can’t... I don’t want to...” “Quit being so damn emotional,” I growled, cutting her off. “You think you’re the only one who has to deal with this? This isn’t some dream come true. It’s a nightmare.”

“You still haven’t shown enough reasons to be regarded as the true heir.” The room seemed to tilt. “What?” I asked, though I’d heard her perfectly. “You’re unmarried,” she continued, her tone painfully composed. “Unloved, at least in the way this family understands love. And you don’t exactly fit into the picture of a perfect heir.” Each sentence landed like a verdict. I stared at her, my throat tight. So this was what it came down to. I let out a hollow laugh. “So that’s it.” “Call it what you want.”

“ His will states that you will need to have a wife and a heir, a complete family, before the inheritance is handed to you and maybe then you will understand the kind of man that he is before you can handle his property.” Understand the kind of man that he is? I do understand that he is a sneaky, sniveling, cheating, corrupt bastard. What more is there to understand about him? What more is there apart from the fact that he was a husband and a father who wanted nothing to do with his family and would rather chase after his mistress skirt. I wonder what would have happened if grandfather accepted those bastards. I would probably have been left nothing despite being the legitimate son of his or

“You fool, do you even know why I insisted on you marrying Angela Hunter?” I frowned, breathing hard. “Because she’s from a good family?” He let out a cold laugh that had no humor in it. “Good family? You really think I care about that?” He released me and straightened his jacket, pacing behind his desk like a man trying to hold back a storm. “Beta Hunter and his wife inherited a fortune, old money hidden well, tied to properties and accounts that only their bloodline can access. And guess who’s the sole heir to that wealth.”

He didn’t care about wealth and name or status but what was real in his life, his family. How could he not recognize this? No wonder he has never managed to warm Jared’s heart. All he had was money and he was desperate to find his heir .someone might decide to kill him and his empire will end up in the wrong hands. No …….He had no choice. The plan must go as scheduled, Jared will be the one to inherit his fortune whether he likes it or not. Later, he will try his level best to find a common ground on which they can associate like father and son.

My eyes met his. “Elijah,” I said slowly, “You wanted this to be addressed here. Let me hear your opinion.” He rose. Cool. Confidence that I wanted nothing more than to shatter. “The reassessment of the Heirs' right is merely a beneficial thought of motion to address some places that need amendment.” “Are you saying that theis family has been running on broken bills and law all this while.” I peered at him. “I merely suggested that, since your heir is still unofficial, it might be wise to establish a failsafe…”
