My Lover, My Stepbrother
I hummed soft, leaning into his touch, eyes falling shut.
“Sleep now,” he murmured, kissing my forehead one last time, voice low and sure. “Rest, my love. I’ll take care of everything.”
He stayed just long enough to make sure I was settled, tucking me in one last time, smoothing the sheets, checking the lock on the door quiet and careful. He slipped his shoes on, fixed his own clothes, made sure nothing was out of place, no mess, no trace, nothing to give us away.
Just before he left, he looked back at me one last time, eyes dark and soft and burning with love and possession all at once.
