Bronx POV Her screams jolted me up from my seat. None of us had fallen asleep yet; too wired, all of the Guardian Knights stood watch in the next room over with Pearl. For hours now, I had to watch as Vince and Cailee cuddled and I swallowed down my jealousy that I wasn’t with my mate also. We didn’t want to take the chance of something happening so close to her shift. Hearing her screams, Bullet, Blaze and Banshee were on immediate high alert, hating the sound of our mate in pain. Baylor and Benji met my eyes in a panic, subtly looking for my directions despite having gone over the plan already almost fifty times.

Four built guards held either edge of the large cage and in it lay a very large lion . Is this what they call a pet lion? He is almost double my size? “Rowan, I can't fight him. He'll rip me apart in minutes” I said, my voice trembling. Fear soon gripped my body at first sight of the lion. “Hey. Don't worry, I know you can do this. Your improvement over the last few days has been remarkable. Besides all you have to do is avoid the lion for a certain period of time” Rowan spoke with such confidence, his soft voice calmed me down.

The lion-man dropped his hands down, using all of his power to deliver his attack, feeling it connect as the force of it caused a large shock wave and dust to spring up from the ground, blocking everyone's field of view. The dust slowly settled, but to everyone's surprise, Xolvion was stood before the lion man, his arm raised as he had blocked his attack. "You're alive!" The lion-man snapped, trying to push all of his weight down into his attack in an attempt to overpower Xolvion. However, Xolvion seemed to be fairing rather well, not even looking as if he was breaking a sweat. "Sorry to disappoint you." He said before he turned to check on Luna.
