“There has to be something here.” Finally, I found a section marked with a strange symbol—two intertwined rings with jagged edges. It felt significant somehow. Pulling out a large, leather-bound book, I set it on a nearby dusty table and opened it. It feels like no one has been here since ages. The pages were fragile, but I handled them carefully, my heart pounding as I skimmed the text. Most of it was hard to understand—old spells, rituals, and theories on magic. But then I saw it.

A symbol on the bark of one of the trees caught my eyes and my head raised in surprise. "What is that?" I asked in alarm, pointing at the tree which was far behind us. Liam decelerated and drove back to the spot, staring at the symbol. "That looks familiar," he muttered, his eyes glued on the symbol. He turned and reached into a bag, pulling out a worn-out book. He flipped through the dusty pages and stopped at a page, staring from whatever was on the book to the symbol on the tree. "Shit! This is bad!" He snapped and dropped the book, stepping on the accelerator pedal.

Jo stepped inside. Books. Thousands of them. Stacked in spiral towers that reached toward a glass dome above, letting filtered moonlight spill over the marble floor. She felt a hum beneath her feet, like the library was alive with secrets. She walked slowly between the shelves, fingertips brushing spines of books bound in hide, bark, even ice itself. Some had no titles—only symbols. Her eyes caught one symbol that looked eerily like the crest Victor once wore on his sword. A chill snaked up her back.

She had the same eyes as Gabby. He carefully put everything back and locked the drawer then he returned the book to its place. He then went ahead to the next drawer and pulled out another book, reading faster through the pages. He closed the thick book his fingers shaking slightly. He stared at the strange symbols on the cover before sliding it back into its secret place in the drawer. Then he closed the drawer, locked the door and left the library. As soon as Steve entered his room and locked the door behind him, the full weight of the prophecy hit him again like a heavy stone.

Intrigued, i decided to take the book back to the cabin to show Nikau. When i arrived back at the cabin, i excitedly showed Nikau the book, telling him all about the strange symbols and images that i had seen. Nikau was equally intrigued by the book, but nikau said that he would be leaving to check out on the pack for a few days. He asked me not to join him as he would be travelling in his wolf form. After he left, I settled into my cozy spot by the fireplace in the cabin, I opened the old book I had checked out from the library.
