Of Pillows and Pampering

Of Pillows and Pampering

“You know what I’m thinking.” Sally rolled her eyes at him and stood to wash the dishes in the sink. Elijah smiled as he stood beside her and passed her the dishes one by one. “Ol’ Joe found the voice actress today. Her name’s Morgan. She was the one who did the recording two years ago.” “She’s pretty famous in the voice acting community in Gunter City. I think she’s taken professional classes. She can imitate any person’s voice as long as you pay her enough money, and it’ll sound even better than a computer-generated voice.

Mr. Kane Got Blacklisted

Mr. Kane Got Blacklisted

These actions hardly fit the profile of someone who despised taking low-paying gigs. The chief and several other big names in the voice-acting industry then spoke up for Dusk Galaxy, debunking the rumors of high salaries for voice actors. They revealed that, in reality, voice actors were paid much less than regular actors, with a few hundred dollars per episode being the norm. Working with actors who could not enunciate clearly meant that the lines had to be repeated over and over, which often led to late-night recording sessions. Even once voice-over actors had established themselves, they still had to comply with the script and accommodate the other actors. If they were not "smart" enough

I am on chapter 1700 and trust me this has to be the only book here that I have not lost interest in,i.e, the chapters have not dragged on and you literally are on the edge of your seat throughout the book. Enjoyed the whole book except the last few chapters.Hope the story doesn't become cliched now

What makes this story good are the characters, mainly the lead characters. Unlike other stories where the leads are usually portrayed as someone omnipotent with multiple hidden excellent identities, both Stella and Keegan have their own flaws and weaknesses, which made their characters more charming

Our Wedding Night

Our Wedding Night

I dial the number, simultaneously clicking on my emails. “Lorcan Adamson.” The voice that answers is so deep and gravelly, I drop my mouse in surprise. Surely that’s not a real voice. It sounds made up. “Hello?” he says again, and I stifle a giggle. This guy has a film-trailer voice. It’s that deep-down rumbly, subwoofer voice you hear as you’re scarfing down popcorn, waiting for your movie to begin. We thought the world was safe. We thought the universe was ours. Till THEY came.

My Neighbor's Disturbing Secret

My Neighbor's Disturbing Secret

He disgusted me. "Good morning. Did you sleep well? Did I bother you with the noise?" He smirked. How could he not know how loud he was? I frowned, glaring at him as I headed for the door. He explained, "I'm a voice actor. I need the quiet of the night to be able to come up with different voice scenarios." He smiled and looked at me lewdly. "I'm sure you'd understand that some voices can't be done in the office."

he proudly said. Personally, I also believe that he could really do it. That it was indeed just going to be a piece of cake to him. Janvic was a broadcast journalist and a field reporter of the Daily Tribune, and he also worked as a news anchor on the radio podcast of The Talisayan station. This were his stuff. He was a good voice actor and I figured that if there was anyone from us here that best fits the role, it was no other than him.

Mga Madalas Itanong

There’s something almost magical about hearing a familiar voice play themselves — it's like the person behind the mic steps out of the booth and sits on your living room couch. When voice actors perform as themselves in audio dramas, they blend honest personality with dramatic craft. They don’t just 'talk like themselves'; they dial in recognizable vocal habits (a laugh, a cadence, a catchphrase) and then use acting tools—pace, emphasis, silence—to shape scenes. I often notice small choices: a slight drag on a vowel to show tiredness, or an exaggerated brightness to sell a joke. Those choices feel personal but are deliberate.

In practice, the actor prepares like any other role. They study the script, mark emotional beats, and discuss boundaries with the director: how much improvisation is okay, which parts are candid, which are fictionalized. Recording sessions can be intimate—headphones, a tiny mic, a cup of cold coffee—so the performance leans into natural speech. Sometimes they record solo monologues and sometimes they bounce off other actors or even clips from real interviews to keep it authentic.

What I love most is when an audio drama plays with 'self'—mixing real anecdotes with invented situations so you’re never sure where persona ends and character begins. It can be charming, messy, and utterly human, and it’s why I’ll always rewind the parts where they laugh like themselves and then pull you into a scene as if it’s all unfolding for the first time.
