Anna POV The hallways of Willow-Hills High buzzed with the usual Monday morning chaos—lockers slamming, sneakers squeaking, gossip ricocheting from wall to wall—but all of it blurred into white noise for me. My mind was elsewhere, replaying the events of the weekend, especially the part where the Winterveil quadruplets had made me feel like I belonged… like I had power… and then shown me just how deep I was in their game. I found Louisa waiting for me at the far end of the corridor, leaning against the wall with her phone in one hand and a coffee in the other. Her eyes lit up when she saw me.

Charlie and her new group of friends chatted about classes when, suddenly, Ashley remarked, “Oh, my god. Alice nodded in sympathy. Even though Charlotte had just told us about her horrible childhood, she still had a positive attitude. WILLOW'S POV My heart was beating as I walked around school looking for Ian. It's a break, so it's not a problem. I walked down the hall. I noticed some students talking in the lobby of the school. They were much, though. My eyes landed on Ian and his friends. He was quiet while they spoke. I walked up to him. His friends noticed me coming. They all walked away, leaving Ian and me at the corner. But that didn't stop everyone's eyes from being on us. "What does she think she's doing?" Someone whispered. I stood in front of him nervously, but he wasn't looking at me. Doesn't he know I'm in front of him?

They were in high spirits, chatting and laughing as they made their way to their lockers. “Well, well, look who we have here,” Amanda sneered, her clique gathering around her. “The twins and their charity case.” Alison, Ella, and Ethan had encountered this kind of animosity before and had learned to handle it with grace.
