Her Day, My Torment

Her Day, My Torment

But the doorknob wouldn’t budge— she had locked it from the outside! "Open the door! Ruby—!" I pounded with all my strength. Her voice, cold and detached, floated from the other side. "Don't act pitiful. I don't want anyone thinking I'm hurting you." She walked away. I was in the small room, alone. Lively music drifted from the banquet hall, and I felt nothing but despair. I dialed Xavier, but there was no signal at all. I felt something was wrong—something dangerous. A deep unease rose in my chest.

My Reborn Apocalypse Begins with a Divorce

My Reborn Apocalypse Begins with a Divorce

The yoga room and swimming pool were active again, accompanied by a few erotic noises… Night passed. The apocalypse had entered its fifty-fourth day. Ray gazed out the window. As the sun rose, the thick fog began to dissipate, as if guided by an invisible hand.

The Goddess Vessel

The Goddess Vessel

VANESSA'S POV The light of the new day was a cautious observer, its pale gaze illuminating not a victory celebration, but an open wound. The compound was a landscape of scars: the blackened timbers of the southern gate, the churned, blood-soaked earth, the quiet, stunned faces of the survivors moving with the slow, heavy grace of deep exhaustion. The air itself felt thin, strained, as if the battle had sucked all the sound and fury from the world, leaving only a hollow, ringing silence.

The Day I Left, My Brothers Fell Apart

The Day I Left, My Brothers Fell Apart

The brothers stared into the distance for any sign of the butler's car, their eyes restless and unfocused. Mario said hoarsely, "Bianca's fingers hurt because they were chafed from practice. But Sofia had severe burns on her face and body. Just how much pain did she endure in silence?"

Leaving on a Summer's Day

Leaving on a Summer's Day

Mitchell woke up groggily the next afternoon. The plates of spaghetti on the table had long since clumped together into an unrecognizable mess, and the floor was littered with overturned bottles of alcohol. The stifling summer heat amplified the pungent stench of stale liquor and souring food, creating an unbearable atmosphere. Yet, Mitchell seemed oblivious. He blended into the chaos of his surroundings, his hollow gaze reflecting the disarray within him. Day after day passed like this, a lifeless routine. There was still no news of Heather. Bethany, who had once loudly insisted on involving the police, had fallen strangely silent. Mitchell guessed Vanessa had made some kind of deal with he

Return to the Fateful Day

Return to the Fateful Day

He was only rather pale because zombies were nocturnal creatures that only moved around in the night. He also didn't smell bad. In fact, there was something oddly fragrant about him. He had a pair of deep green eyes that gleamed like gemstones, and a mole at the corner of his eye accentuated his good looks. He was well-built and had broad shoulders. I could even vaguely make out a toned chest and abs through his white shirt. Landon opened the box he held. I was instantly captivated by what was inside. It was a green floor-length gown with scales on it that shimmered underneath the moonlight. It looked like a flowing galaxy.

GIVEN TO THE WRONG ALPHA

Twice. On the third pulse, every window in Duskbane shatters. Glass rains down. Babies scream. Thorns drop to guard. *Eighty-nine days,* a voice says in our heads. First voice. Cold. Final. *Eighty-nine days until unmaking. One delivered. Seven remain.* Caiden fires. Draven knocks the rifle up and the bullet hits the ceiling. “Enough,” Draven roars. King voice drops Caiden to his knees. Clay raises her hand. Tiny. No claws. Yet.

The Day She Stopped Waiting

The Day She Stopped Waiting

Much closer now. The forest was shaking. Trees were falling. Time was running out. Then Lily stepped forward. Unexpectedly. Then: "The truth is what remains." Silence. Everyone turned toward her. Then Lily looked at the Fragment. Then: "When lies disappear." Pause. Then: "When fear disappears." Another pause. Then: "When hope disappears." The clearing became still. Then: "Whatever remains." The Fragment glowed. Bright. Very bright. Then Thomas understood. Immediately. Then he stepped forward.

10 chapters in and I hope it’s second chance book. I love a good “leaving my shitty husband for a better man” plot but sometimes I love a good “I need to get my wife back” plot as well. Sometimes I want to read about how a relationship was pulled back from the brink and I feel this is goi to be it.
