Christina gave her a look that said she was either testing her or trying to decide how much to say. “This,” she said at last, “is why you’ve been dodging mustard jackets and cleaning up after dead archaeologists.” Leila’s heart skipped a beat. She sat down, sliding the book toward her. It was heavier than it looked, its weight a promise of bad news. “Oh my! Explain,” she said, flipping it open.

Only when I spotted the closed door did I heave a sigh of relief. After that, I quickly dug out the note from the hidden pocket of my coat. A few words were scrawled on the piece of paper. "Quick, escape! Danger!" My heart skipped a beat out of horror. I quickly tore the note into pieces before stuffing it back into the hidden pocket. Then, I pulled out my phone and tapped on a WhatsApp chat box before typing out a message. I made sure to send the coordinates of my location too. When everything was done, I deleted the chat history immediately before placing my phone and my coat in their original positions. Finally, I sighed in relief.

Sean divulged. There was so much I could take for the day. I stayed mute and pretended not to hear him speak. Not until he affirmed it before I force myself to believe that what I heard was the truth. “Stop talking already” I halted Sean and ordered that we go have the conversation inside my car. After the betrayal from Sean, I refused to trust another. There's a high possibility of having another traitor in the company. “Having the conversation inside your car isn't a big deal but what if Sean escapes In the process? Have you thought about that?” Marcus advised.

He chuckled, "Were you talking to Mike? Did you spill our secret?" Luke was undeniably striking. At school, he was an iceberg, cold and untouchable. But in private, he was warm and almost clingy. I met his gaze. “Let me see it.” Kai handed me the heavy book and I quickly scanned the weathered dusty pages. “It looks like a grimoire of some sorts.” I whispered with a thoughtful frown. “To what?” Jin questioned, mirroring my pensive frown. “A magic circle.” I whispered. Hope bloomed my chest as I stared at the faded words. “As long as it is placed in the right location and guided by one, whose blood carries the ancient lineage, a mighty barrier shall rise, shielding all from the dark forces of the hidden family.”

Silver asked. "Yes," Lance replied, "It's the last edition of the book and there's only this. He knew." He said. I waited for more, "There are four books by this author, Johnson Bidan. Each book held a secret." "A secret revealing the mysterious world." Silver replied. "Yes, I have heard about it too." Elizabeth said. "Yes! Yes! Kids. Four editions. Each book is secured by four powers. Alpha, Vampire, Fairy, and Shadow hunter," Lance completed.
