I let out a sudden, incredulous laugh, sharp as glass. "Oh, come on. Don't tell me there's a bloody Disney reference in there. True love's kiss. You cannot be serious." His mouth twitched, but his eyes remained dark. "I thought the same when I read it. I wanted to laugh it off too. But Lilith..." He tapped the page. "It's not a fairy tale. It's what happened." "But then how am I still alive? I should be dead. The curse contained immortality as well." Silence pressed in on us, heavy and tight. At last he lifted his eyes, absolute and unflinching.

But the Wyres are dangerous. Their bite is lethal to Shifters and, if you do survive, you turn into one of them. The curse is transferred through your bloodstream, killing your spirit and replacing it with a monster. They’ve been trying to get their revenge ever since, killing us simply because of an old myth that might not even be true. But, to be fair, we kill as many of them as they kill us. If there are talks of peace, that would be…historical. Impossible. And definitely something I deserve to know about as Princess.

Me and Carter. Snow’s hand found the edge of the door, knuckles white. I leaned against her shoulder, straining to hear every syllable that followed. Phineas guided the Oracle to the couch, his voice gentle. “Start from the beginning. Tell me exactly what you saw.” The Oracle’s breathing hitched. She clasped her hands together so tightly her knuckles turned pale. “I saw a red sky,” she whispered. “Red like spilled blood. The air was thick with smoke and ash. Fire—everywhere. Whole cities burning. Screams.” Her voice cracked. “So much death, Phineas. It was endless.”

The rain got heavier, my vision blurred, I couldn't feel my fingers anymore. Then I saw it through the storm, a massive mountain rising into the clouds. At the top, a castle made of black stone, windows glowed red like eyes. This was it. The Alpha King's home. I made it maybe fifty feet before my legs gave out. I fell at the foot of the mountain, mud and blood stuck to my skin. Everything was silent, except for my rough breaths. Then I heard footsteps. Slow. Deliberate. Coming closer, And then everything went black.

He had ran in the direction of the current, hoping for a glimpse of her and putting his hand in the water at intervals in case he was able to fish her out, but she was nowhere to be found. His blood ran cold. Prince Hayden was going to kill him the moment he inherited his Alpha powers which was at midnight tonight. That little human girl was the Prince’s plaything, his playmate, his property. Titan knew he intended to give the girl a title of some sort.

The altar cracked open, spilling waves of energy, dark, alive, and angry. Aldric shouted, “She has unleashed it!” Tiara dropped to her knees, clutching her head as the curse surged within her, drawn to the power released. Edwin tried to reach her, but the force threw him back. “Tiara!” Her eyes snapped open, glowing black and silver at once. “I cannot stop it,” she gasped. “It is taking over...”

Chelsea noted. "It's because of the curse," Bryan replied. "What is this curse called?" Chelsea asked. Bryan explained it was the Midnight Curse, which kills the afflicted and their relatives within an hour if not treated. And if the curse is intense, even stabilization won't help. I sat on the ground, pained, feeling my heart slow and my senses dull. I couldn't make sense of what was happening around me. Chelsea's worried voice reached me; she was giving instructions to Belle and Bryan. I fought the pain, trying to draw the curse into myself so it wouldn't harm Flora or pass to Ivan. I couldn't let that happen.

Like a spider's web, dense, blue-black veins all over his body were slowly converging at his heart. "What happened?" "It started half a month ago..." Benjamin began recounting the events from half a month ago. "I was just playing with her. I made it clear from the start, but she cursed me!" Chad asked, "What's her name?" Benjamin replied, "She called herself Tiffany. She said this curse is called the Heart Curse and can only be lifted with the chimera pill..."

Smith Wayne's peace started shattering seeing how crazy his son looked while Serena Wayne's happiness got a stroke hearing that her son has fallen for a girl who will never accept him willingly.
