Amelia's voice sounded high pitched, close to hysteria. He extended his hand, and took her hand in his. The texture of the rough flesh in his palm touching the soft one in hers as he rubbed his thumb slowly and in circle motions in her hand made her more emotional. She took a deep breath, trying to hold herself from crying. “Just promise me,” he whispered. "Promise me you'll keep hiding." A while passed, and she didn't answer him. "Please, Amelia, I need to know the answer." She swallowed her saliva and nodded her head. If that's what he wanted to hear, then be it, she thought.

“I promise. I won't try any more tricks.” “You had better. Get what I want ready before the end of this week or the only job you'll be able to get is that of a prostitute as no one would want to hire a loose worker like you” Edward said and immediately hung up the call. Amelia decided to confront Ann herself with what she had found out. If there was a way she could help her then she would. She won't let her work for her age though. No more secrets, Amelia! You promised.” She let out a bitter laugh. “Yeah, well, promises are easy when you’re both bleeding in the dark. They’re a lot harder in daylight.”

Silas sat in the corner of his cell, looking unbothered, as if he were merely waiting for a carriage. Axel pressed a button on the wall, and the glass became transparent.
