Torren’s POV The new moon was still days away, but the air already felt charged with the promise of chaos. I moved through the shadows of Night Claw territory like a ghost, heart pounding with dark excitement. The scouting party Axel had promised was due any minute. A small group meant to test the border defenses and create just enough noise to keep everyone distracted while I worked from inside. My role was simple but critical. While the scouts hit the eastern gate, I would slip closer to the relic chamber and begin weakening the outer wards using the sequence Selene had given me. Nothing obvious yet.
