Chapter 89: Taking after their mother ** Amber’s POV “My love, you are already the best husband and father ever,” I tell my husband, “You don’t need to buy out the entire toy store to prove it!” We both regard the pile of toys my mate has brought home today. Stuffed wolves of every size and color, some of them far too big for our newborns. Which my husband knows. Mobiles, teddy bears, so many other puffy creatures that I can’t even readily identify. I think some are from television shows, but I’m really not sure. There’s just so many of them.

"Don't be silly. It's not even a full moon. Oh, here we are." She turned into a strip mall and I surveyed the occupants. There was an H&R Block, a fish and chicken joint, a Great Clips, and an, oh shit. Sure enough, Aly pulled up to the shop on the far right where the large windows were curtained, with only four mannequins visible. Three were female, each wearing brightly colored lingerie, and another was male with only a tight pair of red shorts. A pink sign was shining in the window, advertising Adult toys and novelties, lingerie, DVDs, etc. I realized my mouth was hanging open a little and I was staring. Aly turned to me with a big grin on her face.

I smiled back, taking his hand as he pointed at my chest again. My handsome charge nodded eagerly. I wasted no time leading him back to the escalator. My mind was racing as we rode up. Where on earth do I find something as soft as… that? A toy store! Stuffed animals—yes, there are squishy toys out there, right? “Come on! Let’s get you a squishy toy over there!” I beamed, pointing to a nearby toy shop. “Yayyy!” He cheered and ran ahead of me.

I was flabbergasted, to say the least lol. I tell Qwan, “Um, I actually don’t know if they have toys in there. But we can look, tho.” Manny told them calmly. "Yes, they have lots of toys, Qwan. And when we get inside, you can pick out the ones you want. And I’ll buy them for you, okay?" Qwans’ little face lit up; he had the biggest grin! With his snaggle-toothed self. “Rweally? Any wone I want?” Manny smiles, promising him, “Yup, any one you want.” Qwan beams at him while Tez pouts stubbornly. “Wha ’bout me!?” Manny chuckles, “You too Tez.” And Tez snickers mischievously like he just stole a toy from Qwan and no one noticed. Manny is gonna have them spoiled rotten by the time we leave, smh.

It was weird having everyone bow and stare at me. "Just keep walking. You will get used to all of this soon," Lucien said as he pulled me closer to him and kissed the top of my head. "I think we should get a mixture of toys for boys and girls," Debra said "That sounds like a good idea," I replied. We made it to a toy store in the mall. It had all the toys any child would want. I picked up toys for all ages, from babies to about twelve years. We got many dolls and trucks and accessories for the toys. I also got blocks, stuffed animals, coloring books, crayons, puzzles, playdough, slime, and bubbles. I looked at the dollhouses and kitchens, bikes, and tricycles.

Five Years Later AURORA Laughter echoed through the packhouse before I even reached the doorway. I paused outside the nursery and smiled to myself because I already knew exactly what I was about to find. “Darius!” “I didn’t do anything!” “That’s a lie and you know it!” Another burst of childish giggling followed, accompanied by the unmistakable sound of tiny feet racing across the wooden floor. I pushed the door open. The room looked like a battlefield. Wooden swords lay scattered across the floor, blankets had somehow become makeshift forts, and cushions were piled into what appeared to be an ambitious attempt at building a castle.

I chuckled, amused at what the kids were thinking and they all started making guesses excitedly. They are arguing amongst themselves trying to come to a conclusion on where we were going when I finally veered off the highway. "T, o, y, that's toy. Right, mommy?" Justin asked and I smiled. "Yes, baby." "What about this: s, t, o, r, e? What's that mommy?" He enquired again. "I can't see what's written above toy, Mommy," Mason complained and I laughed. "Well, you don't need to know. All that matters is that we're at this city's largest toystore," I revealed and they began screaming excitedly.

Fresh and raw, like something just opened. Mia asked around last week. "Some kind of toy store," she reported. "Handmade stuff, wood things. Kind of cute, actually." A toy store. Next to a coffee shop in a quiet Seattle neighborhood. Fine. Good. Maybe they'll send customers our way. I don't think about it again.

As I spoke, my gaze magically traveled to the part of the store where toys were arranged on neat shelves. A broad smile formed on my face. I was going to buy as many toys and toiletries as I could carry. Both Jojo and baby Lucian are going to be so impressed when they see me... Probably not JoJo. With all the determination of a father, I breezed my way to the toy racks.

Nina Morrison's eyes light up, "Are you going to Nelson's birthday? Can you give him my present?" Sunny nods, "All right! There is a children's toy store near my house. The toys there are very exquisite. We can go there and pick our presents after dinner." Nina Morrison feels better now. After lunch, she urges Sunny to take her to buy toys. Sunny gives her a glance, but can't figure it out. Yes, Nelson is lovely, but it's starnge that Nina Morrison loves him so much. They just meet several times!" At the toy store, Nina Morrison and Sunny are selecting. Then Sunny's cell phone rings.
