I sit in the leather armchair across the room.
Watch the slow sway of their bodies.
Listen to the creak of rope under weight.
The soft, wet sounds of their breathing.
They’ll hang until the sun rises over the city skyline—helpless, aching, beautifully ruined.
The jute will leave its signature: red welts turning purple, rope burns that will throb for days, reminding them with every shift, every brush of fabric, who they belong to.
And when I finally cut them down,
