She was outrageously beautiful, and he stood there staring intently, forgetting even to step forward and take his seat. Everyone was already settled around the dining table except him. Wilson raised his head and saw West. A smile spread across his face. Although he hadn’t seen him for months, he had found out that West moved out of the house after leaving the school team. Even though West had refused to answer his calls or reply to his messages, Wilson still saw him as his only brother and missed him. “Big bro!” he called out excitedly. He got to his feet, walked over, and pulled him into a bear hug.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to intrude. I’m Luca, Damien’s brother.” My mother blinked. “Damien’s brother?” Luca nodded politely. “Yes. I heard about Mr. Valenci, and I just came to check on him. I didn’t want to disturb your rest, so Selena and I spoke out here.” Her brows lifted slightly in surprise. My hands were shaking as I picked up the invitation from my table. Ethan was Anabel's brother. The name printed on the invitation card confirmed it. A small body slammed into his side. “Victor! What did I tell you about running?” The booming voice of Wade, his brother’s beta, filled the kitchen. Chris picked the youngster up as Wade and Chris’ sister walked in, hand in hand. “Happy birthday, baby brother!” Adelaide sang. “Less of the baby!” He grumbled, settling Victor on his lap, his brilliant green eyes twinkling with mischief up at Chris. “What you planning?” he whispered.

He shuts the door again as I exit the bathroom. I sit back on the bed, “Are you Samual’s Beta?” The way he demands those around him suggests he holds some weight in the pack. “No, my father.” I nod, beta-blood, makes sense. “Are you and Wade friends?” I want to find out about the man who will become my ‘mate’. “Yes, I’ll be his Beta. She is stunning and looks exactly like her mother. “We are going to be the best of friends” she announces. “Yeah, you will have no choice in the matter,” Wade mumbles, rubbing his neck. “Oh hush you!” She laughs, reaching out and giving Wade a hug.
