PUCK ME, STEPBROTHER
For a moment, we just lie there breathing hard, neither of us moving or speaking.
When reality crashes back, neither of us speaks for a while. The silence is heavy, loaded with everything we're not saying. I stare at the ceiling, my mind racing but completely blank at the same time.
Finally, I sit up and grab my shirt from the floor, pulling it back on. The fabric sticks slightly to my sweaty skin. Bryson does the same, both of us moving while avoiding eye contact.
That's when we hear footsteps echoing outside in the hallway, stumbling and uneven. The door bursts open suddenly, and one of our teammates, Thompson, stumbles in. He's clearly wasted, barely able to walk straight.
