Dorian’s ears twitched at their words, but he didn’t turn around. He couldn’t afford distractions, not now. His warriors needed to see him as a leader, unbroken and undeterred. He exhaled slowly, forcing the pain from his wound to the back of his mind. The battlefield required focus, and focus he would give.
As the first wave of Valen’s forces emerged from the mist, a low growl rumbled from Dorian’s chest. Wolves of varying sizes padded forward alongside humanoid soldiers, their eyes glowing red in the darkness. These weren’t ordinary wolves; they were vicious and deadly.
