Wings Of Fire Base Novels & Stories

I can see the faint outline of what looks like wings spread behind her. Wings of fire that seem to take the shape of a heart… A piercing scream rips through the air as her power increases tenfold and surges into the sky, emanating in waves around her. I see the swirls of the flames behind her move before I see a tiny part of her left wing snap and shrivel into embers of ash. It’s too blinding to look at, and I’m forced to avert my gaze.

“At least this direction.” “Then let us go,” Bryden said coughing. “I would suggest we fly higher above the smoke.” My mother suggested coughing hard. So, we flew higher where the smoke was thinner as the light wind was blowing the smoke in the direction of the palace. We finally stopped coughing, and we headed toward the base. Once we got to where the base once stood, it was gone entirely. “The men and women!” I said and saw no one below. Everything was charcoaled and obliterated, and on fire, and in the center of the blast zone was a huge crater.

Mane had just employed one of those many moves: Exploding Wings. Mane’s mumble was the trigger for the huge fiery wings that grew on his back. The wings were several dozens of meters long and several meters wide. When they appeared on Mane’s back they rose high into the sky, and flapped rapidly. Yet their beating didn’t lift Mane up or take him into the sky. With the beating of those wings, the cry of a Phoenix filled the ears of all who were here, and several large flames descended upon the retreating goblins, burning them all to a crisp. The fire was stronger, completely eliminating the goblins in less than a second.

You cannot… It didn’t finish, because the fire moved from us. The white blaze poured outward, sculpting itself into form. Wings, yes, but not of flame alone. They carried weight, shape, bone made of light, feathers cut from fire. They unfurled behind us, vast enough to brush the hollow walls, each beat scattering roots like brittle twigs. The girl gasped, her voice a ragged prayer. “Saints… you’re… ” But she couldn’t name it, neither could I.

"I would never let you die." Hope whispered to me. Then she let go of me and stood beside me with a corner smile, confident, she made a simple motion with her hand and that reddish shape spread further, like wings, but not just any wings, they were Dragon wings. As the wings passed through the shadows and places a bluish flame appeared and began to burn everything that wasn't solid. I could tell the shadows were writhing and screaming, they were screams of agony as they were consumed, the runes of protection disappeared and the magic that was in the place dissipated, but these flames didn't hit us, it was as if the people who were with me were immune to them.

I stood where I was even when my instincts were hitting the flight part of it hard. Then I saw it… Streaks of red raced through the sky before coming down hard against the boundary in multiple points. Not ordinary fire. No…this was Phoenix fire. A sea of sparks exploded, sending them through the air. Everything shook. The ground. The trees. Our boundary held until one more round of Phoenix fire hit it. Victory was shouted out by the demons as if they’d already won the battle.

Finally something useful. “Wings are essentially a bunch of Power threads that have acquired a physical structure. The power of the seraph before the appearance of wings is great. ~ Amara ~ "Amara, stay back! Get to the gates now!" Gideon’s voice was a ragged scream that barely cut through the roar of the fire. The orange light was blinding. It turned the dark garden into a nightmare of shifting, red shadows. I could feel the heat on my skin, stinging and dry like a desert wind. The West Wing of Moore Crest was no longer a building. It was a wall of pure fire. Thick, black smoke curled into the night sky like heavy snakes. My heart hammered against my ribs so hard it felt like it might actually break.

“Why? Is it because of-“ Movement behind him caught her attention and she saw huge wings in the sky, right before the sky exploded with fire. She didn’t think, she pushed him to the ground, covering his body with hers as the fire rained down on them.

Making us vanish into nothingness. I need to react fast. This is bad, really bad. If she can catch on fire, she can do some real damage to my members.
