Jessica’s grip on her daggers tightened. “What’s the plan?” “We wait,” I said. “See what they’re doing with it.”

“Start over! Kill her if you have to— " That’s not how it works, werewolf!” Another one of the witches snapped, her wrinkled face barely visible as she turned to face Jason. Lila, on the other hand, was speechless. Her hand remained on her chest, and her eyes stayed fixed on the altar in utter disbelief. The witches argue amongst themselves, making it known that the altar was supposed to drain Celeste’s life force without their interference. Apparently, all that was needed to activate the altar was Lila’s powers and the chants they had made earlier.

"This is the Veiled Altar. The final rite of reclamation must be performed here. Once complete, the sanctuary will be bound to your will." Arla-Rosa stepped into the circle. As her foot touched the first carved phoenix ring, the floor lit up in a warm, gold-red glow. Glyphs emerged in the air, forming a halo around her. The altar responded with a low hum. Thirty six witches (male and female), divided in five covens, Arkana being the strongest of them with twelve members, and Black Jade being the newest with only three members. I see it as just kids rebelling against their witchy parents. Thinking they know best, i guess. There are some rivalries amongst them, but nothing serious.
