As we descended into the subterranean colosseum, the noise became overwhelming. Two thousand warriors filled the stone tiers of the cavern. These were the Shadow Warriors—the battle-scarred outcasts of the Dead Woods. They were alphas, betas, and omegas who had been rejected by their birth packs, criminals who had survived the brutal winter wilderness, and veterans of forgotten border wars. They didn't wear uniforms; they wore heavy furs, iron chains, and leather straps over bodies covered in jagged claw scars. They were savage, and radiated a volatile pressure.

Kate's P.O.V. As I pressed my hand on that warrior’s skin, darkness swallowed me whole. The cold hospital room vanished, replaced by a battlefield drenched in blood. The injured warrior staggered across the ruined courtyard, every breath sounding like broken glass scraping his lungs. His wolf growled fiercely as three rogues surrounded him, attacking at once. Despite his injuries, the warrior refused to retreat. He fought like a man protecting something far more valuable than his own life. Claws collided, and growls shook the air as he managed to throw one rogue into a wall before another ripped across his shoulder.

Vee dropped one of her swords. Killian couldn’t wait any longer. He let go of the rope and launched himself towards the ground. As he fell, he shifted, the power rippled up his spine. He landed hard on all four and took off at a sprint just as Vee fell to her knees. The Werecat landed a hard blow to Vee’s head and she collapsed. The cat had its jaws just inches from Vee’s throat when Killian tackled the beast and they went rolling sideways. They were maw to maw as the warriors started raining down above them. The Shifters started to fall back as the warriors began cutting them down in huge swatches.

Leo’s POV I heard the loud clatter of a tray landing on the floor. It was so loud that it made Nova and myself startled. The maid let out a scream and ran out of there. We both quickly ran inside only to see Miss Warrior laying there motionless. A few minutes ago she was there standing firmly and asking questions to the maid with the sharp look she always wore. And now she was laying on the ground, limp like a puppet without any string. My breath hitched, as I stood there like I was frozen. My body was not able to move, my mind couldn't make sense of what had just happened. Miss Warrior wasn’t supposed to fall. She has always been strong. She never stood behind but in front of others.

The cat growled and lunged at him again, teeth bared, but the warrior stepped aside with fluid precision. “Woah! I think that cat’s overdue for a nap.” He said with a chuckle, glancing towards Lyra and motioning to the attacking animal. The wild cat flailed, its sharp teeth gnashing at his wrist, but he didn’t flinch. With a grunt, he swung the creature to the side with a force that sent it tumbling into the wet grass. The wild cat’s body flickered like a mirage for a moment, but it recovered quickly, spinning around and launching itself at the warrior once more, its body a blur of twisted motion.

~~~ ~Callum's POV~ I lay in my bed, and heavy pants fell from my lips. The work of training the warriors for battle has made me an exhausted man. The warriors we had available were trained harder than every other warrior we've had in the history of the Moon Crescent pack. —there, we have to pay for losing good men in battle. I continued laying on the bed, about to drift off into a beautiful sleep w, when the door to my bedroom cracked open, and the woman who had made herself known to me, and a sigh left my lips.

I grabbed a hot chocolate and joined them. Lola "ah here’s our other new warrior" she said smiling Maisie "girls I’m so proud of you both your gonna smash it .and It'll be nice to know when we’re all tucked up in our beds, we have two of our finest girls patrolling the boarders". Dakota "Uhh, well we still have six months to go girls before we even know if we've passed and get to be official warriors" Maisie "well I already know you girls will kick ass and pass"

His hands were bloody from the bear he helped to hunt, but the adrenaline was still pumping in his veins, fierce believers of an invisible enemy. The only threat to the country nowadays was the occasional ice bear and packs of giant wolves that plagued the villages closer to the mountains. No war, no battles. Alarick spent the last seven years making himself known as the scariest warlord to ever been born, and it paid in respect and fear from his enemies. He didn’t need to be here to kill these animals. His soldiers could very much deal with it. He came just for fun. Besides, he knew people liked seeing him around. It gave them the feeling of protection that he was very much glad to provide.

I only had to wear it when I wasn't down at the camp, and despite the churning weather, I was needed to welcome some new recruits tonight. Most young ladies my age would be flabbergasted by the condition of my tattered hem and faded skirt. But I wasn't your typical girl. I was a warrior, a protector, a Guardian through and through. My attire wasn't something that I would put at the top of my list of worries. Not when there were creatures of the night lurking nearby, endless wars to wage, and loved ones to protect.
