Married by Contract, Destined by Fate
I was trying to regain my senses fully when I heard the muffled scream again and got to know that it was Vincenzo who was making it.
His screams continued, and they sounded desperate and scared. He tossed his head from left to right, his palm tightly fisting the bedsheet.
The room was dimly lit, casting eerie shadows that danced across Vincenzo's face. His forehead was drenched in sweat, glistening in the faint light. His clenched fists gripped the bedsheet with such intensity that his knuckles turned white, revealing the depth of his terror.
His eyes squeezed shut, his brows furrowed and before I could understand what was happening to him, he cried out, "Don't leave me, please don't."
