Damien's POV

I sat still. Very still. The couch beneath me was stiff, unforgiving. Gray like everything else in this house. Gray walls. Gray floors. Gray morning light bleeding through the windows. It fit me, this dull palette of a life I didn’t ask for, didn’t want… but somehow kept building.

My fingertips tapped against the armrest. Once. Twice. Again.

Rhythmic. Controlled. But inside? Inside was chaos.

I had heard her long before I saw her, Madelyn. That purposeful click of heels on tile. Her steps always sounded like an announcement. She never entered a room. She arrived.

And there she was. At the archway. Wearing red, of course. She liked drama. Liked to be the thing you couldn’t unsee.

My jaw clenched the second our eyes met. She smiled at me like this was a joke. Like I was supposed to be amused.

I didn’t move. I didn’t even blink. “What are you doing here?” I asked. My voice was quiet, but it never had to be loud.

Madelyn walked in like she owned the place. Sat

  • Alpha CEO Desired Me After Divorce   Emotional Blackmail

Evangeline's POVI couldn't help the moans that escaped my lips. He hadn’t been the cold tyrant I had braced myself for. Instead, Damien lay beside me and somehow, that was more disarming than anything else he could’ve done. His heat radiated into me. A reminder. A threat and a comfort I didn’t know anymore. My shirt lay discarded somewhere at the foot of the bed. My skin tingled from where he’d touched me. Where his palm had cupped my breasts hesitant but wanting. Where his mouth had brushed the base of my throat with terrifying gentleness. But suddenly he pulled away, disappoinment flashed across my face but I hid it and pulled the blanket up to my chest, suddenly too aware of every inch of my exposed skin. He didn't looked away. But there was something unreadable in his eyes like he was still trying to figure out if I was real. Or maybe trying not to believe if it was me at all. I swallowed, my voice catching in the tight place in my throat. “You didn’t finish what you starte

  • Alpha CEO Desired Me After Divorce   Mini Urge

Damien's POV I had never been good with emotions. But something about the way her body folded inward, the way she looked at the ceiling instead of me, it cracked something in my ribs. Without thinking, I crouched lower Each movement toward her was quiet. She looked up when I stopped in front of her, her eyes red-rimmed, glinting with defiance she could barely hold up anymore. There was no slap in her this time, it was just her. Wounded. Alive. Real. I lowered myself slowly, a knee brushing the edge of the bed. She didn’t recoil. But she didn’t lean in either. I hovered near her like I wasn’t sure where I belonged. And then gods help me, I reached for her. My hand rose, hesitated in the air before brushing the line of her jaw. Lightly. As if even the ghost of touch might cause her to flee. Her skin was soft, so soft, and warm with tension. My thumb hovered over the curve of her cheek, pausing when her breath caught in her throat. She was trembling. Not from fear. From

  • Alpha CEO Desired Me After Divorce   Wolf In Sheep's Clothing

Evangeline's POV The door slammed shut behind me with more force than intended. My heart pounded so loud I could almost hear it through the splintered frame. I pressed my back against the door, closing my eyes. My breaths came ragged and fast, my vision blurring just for a moment as adrenaline and panic washed over me. Slowly, I slid down the door until I was sitting on the floor, my knees drawn tight. I clenched my hands together, nails biting into the flesh of my palms. The silence of the room swallowed me. I could still feel every echo of footsteps—his. The tension in my chest felt like a fist, folding me into nothingness. I tried to think back, to steady myself, to put one emotion in focus: shock, anger, betrayal. But they tangled together like thorned vines. I glimpsed movement in the corner of my eye, and when I looked up, Kaia stood on the other side of the room. Her presence should have calmed me, she was small and fragile but not now. Her lips were pressed into

  • Alpha CEO Desired Me After Divorce   Mate Rite Gone Wrong

Damien's POV (The Mating Rite) The sacred vow had been spoken and now, her skin bore my mark. My canines had pierced her neck with a precision honed by centuries of instinct, yet my hands… they trembled. The ceremony Hall was silent now. The voices of the elders had faded. Evangeline hadn’t said a word since she signed the contract. She stood still, jaw tight, her eyes glassy and distant like she wasn’t entirely here. And I hated that. Because I had imagined this moment so differently once, years ago, in dreams I never dared give voice to. I had pictured reverence, emotion, surrender. Not a woman standing before me like a warrior walking to her execution, not her shoulders squared as if bracing for the worst, not her eyes so hollow, so distant that for a second I wondered if she even felt the bond settle between us. The mark pulsed. I could feel it already forming its tether, an invisible thread connecting her heartbeat to mine. It wasn’t complete yet; the full effec

  • Alpha CEO Desired Me After Divorce   Decaying Bond

Damien's POV Hours later I hardly remembered leaving Evangeline’s room. My head was fogged, body hollowed out by the echo of her words—her anger, her accusations, her plea for escape. Yet something deeper had shifted beneath my ribs, and I needed distance to breathe, to think, to steady the storm inside my chest. So I wandered through the fortress halls, moving without real intent, until I found myself in Yharina’s chamber. It was quietly lit by dim lights and herbs hanging from the rafters, the air rough with earthy warmth. She looked up from the mortar and pestle she was using, her soft eyes immediately registering my unrest. “Alpha,” she said quietly. I paused. My throat was dry, and my heart pounded like a trapped bird. I wanted to speak, ask questions, for clarity but the words locked in my chest. She set aside her tools and rose, her eyes narrowing with concern. “Did something happen between you and her?” Her directness surprised me. Most people would avoid the ques

  • Alpha CEO Desired Me After Divorce   Brink of madness

Evangeline's POV His words echoed in the silence again. “So… will you consent?” My heart had just begun to slow, still thrumming with the memory of what just happened, his words...fuck! he knew how to use them. We had come so close to something I never thought I would allow myself. But now something had shifted inside me, hardening with bitterness and fear. I swallowed, staring down at my hands, my fingers trembling under the weight of my decision. “I… can’t,” I stated. My words tasted like ash. His expression went quiet and calm, impossible to read before he asked, softly but with a knife-edge of steel, “Why not?” My chest heaved. I trembled, but I forced my gaze to his. “Because you’re insane,” I said, quieter than I felt. But each word struck me like a blow: insane. Crazy. The word echoed in the room and so did my anger. He flinched, just a fraction, almost like he expected more, and I felt something coil inside me: confusion, remorse, rebellion. “You’re twisting m
