Amber's POV
I closed the door behind me, and the excitement building in my gut was a lot like the anticipation for sex. This was my new beginning, a fresh start in a pack that wasn't my own. As an Omega from the Woodland Pack, I knew I would face challenges, but I was determined to prove myself.
Unzipping my luggage, I took out a pink coat and a pair of plastic hand gloves along with a face mask. As I kicked off my shoes and slipped into comfortable flip-flops, I took my jacket and put on the pink coat and gloves. I carefully placed the face mask over my ears, ready to face the world.
With a duster in my hand, I prepared myself for the chore at hand. As I tried to tie up my curly, short hair, a sharp knock sounded at the door before I could reach it.
Daniel poked his head into my room. "Lovely, are you done yet?" he questioned, his brown eyes scanning the room.
"Can't you wait for me to say, 'Come in'?" I complained, my gaze fixed on him.
"Oh, sorry, my bad," he apologized, closing the door and knocking again, annoying as always.
"Come in," I growled, annoyance obvious in my voice.
"I just wanted to tell you that if you are done, come and join us downstairs," Daniel said before slamming the door without waiting for my reply.

I finished cleaning my room, though the bathroom had given me quite a bit of stress. I made my way downstairs, watching as my parents assisted each other in the cleaning process, chatting and dusting the couch.
A sigh escaped my lips as I joined them on the couch. I couldn’t hide my fatigue. "Ugh! I'm so tired," I lamented, my hands resting on my back.
"You lazy ass," Daniel mumbled under his breath.
"Don't call my princess that," my father intervened, defending me.
"I am on Daniel’s side, Amber is just being lazy," my mother added, taking sides.
"I'm not lazy; I'm just conserving energy, and besides, I'm starting school tomorrow! Can't you guys give me a break?" I snapped, stepping away from the couch.
"I have to look for another job in this pack, and you are talking about taking a break? Do you think I am a fool? As long as we are in a new pack, we don’t get to take a break unless we are already settled in," my father replied, glaring at me seriously.
"I never wanted to come to a new pack anyway, I should have attended a university back in our pack," I said under my breath. "But no, I can’t, because we have been banished, and why? Because you just had to go and work for the alpha of another pack to sabotage our pack, how could you, Dad?"
"Watch your mouth, young lady. Your father had no option but to work for Alpha Kent. We both know he is one of the most feared Alphas in all the packs, and no one could say no to him. We want the best for you, honey. Every step we take is with your best interest in mind," my mother reassured me, a sincere smile on her beautiful face.
The anger that I once felt was gone, now replaced with guilt. "I’m sorry, Dad, no excuse can justify the way I just spoke to you. It was disrespectful, and I apologize. You guys are the best parents." I beamed and pulled my father and mother into a hug.
"We love you too, Pumpkin," my father replied, wrapping his large hands around both of us until we were both flushed against his chest.
"All this family drama is starting to make me feel nauseous," Daniel scoffed, dusting a Mona Lisa painting on the wall.
"It looks like the owner of this house is an art lover," I commented, studying the artistic painting, along with another one that was beside it.
"I think so too, just look at the décor," my father observed.
After hours of cleaning and chatting, it was already evening, and we all settled around the dining table, eating and engaging in a casual conversation, and Daniel couldn’t help but bring up the topic of my new school.
"Uh, I heard the university is full of high-class wolves from all over the world," he stated, sipping on his orange juice.
My grip tightened on my dress as his words echoed in my ears and unease leaked into my bloodstream. Sensing my unease, my mother discreetly held my hand under the table, offering support.
"Don't worry, honey. Everything will be fine. No need to be nervous. Daniel is just babbling nonsense," she reassured me with a friendly smile.
"But Mom, it's the truth," Daniel responded, earning a foot stomp from Mom.
"Ouch!" he exclaimed, his face screwed up in pain.
"Son, stop instilling fear in your sister's mind. You should be encouraging her. This is her first time attending a college outside our pack," my father reprimanded with a deep voice.
"I know, Dad, but Omegas like us have a hard time in this society, and I heard the college is built up of ranks, and only wolves with rich parents are allowed to attend it. Lovely is just lucky to get a scholarship there now that they are trying to accept ordinary students. They despise low-class wolves like us, and I can't stand their judgment and prejudice." Daniel clenched his fists into tight balls, anger apparent in his voice.
"Enough with the negativity. They are just werewolves like us and think they will like my little girl," Mom commented and continued eating her vegetables.
"Daniel is right, even if you don’t want to admit it. They may be werewolves like us, but they treat us Omegas as inferior. They don't see us as equals because of our rank. It's infuriating," my father commented, his dark eyes burning with fury.
"With all the things I have heard about their treatment of Omegas, I don't think I will like them," I admitted, feeling a bit fuzzy.
Amber's POVThe moment we both strolled into the cafeteria, I felt it. Every pair of eyes turned to us, me and Alpha Xavier, our hands intertwined. Gasps of shock filled the air, high-pitched and bitter, as whispers moved around the room like a breeze across a still river. The students never missed a change in relationship dynamic, and it felt like they were all up in my business.“They are,” Raven commented. “You are the only omega in this elite school who has managed to catch the attention of the two most powerful alphas here.”“What is going on? The number one bad boy, Alpha Xavier, also known as the ultimate school bully, is dating that Black omega now?” One student snorted, clearly forgetting I could hear perfectly well.“I don’t buy this bullshit,” another whispered bitterly. “He is dating that ugly duckling? I have been crushing on him since last winter, and he has never even looked at me, not even once, but here? I must say he has poor taste in women.”Xavier leaned d
Amber’s POVI took the smoothie from Alpha Xavier with both hands, smiling wider than I probably should have. I had forgotten today was the day I was supposed to give him my answer. And guess what? I still didn’t have one.“What do you mean you don’t have one?” Raven questioned in my head. “The answer is as clear as day, this Alpha is hot as hell, and he is also our mate. What more can we ask for? Or are you in love with Alpha Mason or something? Do you like that toxic alpha?”“I don’t like any of the Alphas!” I snapped back at her and shut her off.Moon goddess, save me now.“Can you leave us alone?” Xavier inquired, turning to Nate. His voice wasn’t aggressive, but it had that harsh undertone, that Alpha-like growl he did when he was trying to act calm.Nate leaned into me, his breath warm against my earlobe. “Should I go?”I hesitated and nodded, not trusting myself to speak.“Okay,” he murmured, but before leaving, he did that thing with his two fingers pointing at his eye
Amber's POV Watching Daniel and Bella kiss in front of me was like getting hit in the face with a wet sock. I mean, seriously? Right in front of me? I rolled my eyes so hard I thought they might get stuck in their sockets. My wolf gave a low growl of frustration inside me.“Why do they keep shoving their relationship in our face? They are mates who are lucky to be together, we know.” Raven lamented. It’s not even about Daniel, he is my brother, but seeing them together just reminded me of what I didn’t have. No, mate. No love. No attention except the undesirable kind from Alpha Mason and the puzzling type from Xavier. Was I supposed to like Xavier? Should I accept him? Ugh. I didn’t know. And I hated not knowing. “Good evening, my love,” Daniel mumbled, kissing Bella on the lips like we weren’t all standing right there. His lips parted hers in a soul-reaching massage, and she succumbed to the forceful domination of his lips. He kissed the pulsing hollow at the base
Amber's POVI waited for the last class to finish before rushing in to grab my bag. The moment the bell resounded in the halls, I ran into the main hall like a hungry wolf chasing after prey. My nose twisted, everyone’s scent still lingered in the hallway, strong and overwhelming, but I picked out Nate’s scent immediately as I walked into the courtyard. He was standing in the middle of the courtyard, talking to Elsa. Were they… friends?I walked over sluggishly, catching the sound of her loud giggle. She was laughing at everything Nate was saying, like he was the funniest person she had ever met. “Are you guys friends?” I questioned, squinting at her. My voice came out sharper than intended. “No offense.” “None taken, we just became friends,” Nate replied quickly, flashing me a toothy smile. “Elsa, meet Amber, my best friend.” He nudged me, and my eyes widened in astonishment. Best friend?I tried not to smile too much, but my cheeks betrayed me. “Nice to meet you, Elsa,” I be
Author's POV “I can’t try. I’m scared of rejection, and I haven’t found my mate either, maybe it’s for the best,” Nate remarked, his voice soft, like a pup confessing a forbidden secret.Amber smiled gently at him, her yellowish-brown eyes shiny underneath the dimly lit cafeteria. “Just try. There is no harm in trying and seeing if this fantasy of yours can become a reality,” she beamed, her tone filled with warmth and the pale growl of reassurance only another wolf could pick up on. Nate hesitated, rubbing his hands together nervously. “So… when should I try?” he questioned.“Tomorrow,” Amber replied resolutely, stretching her arms above her head with a small yawn. Her muscles ached from the stress of the day, and her wolf moved inside her, restless. “I can’t believe I have a friend who accepts me for who I am,” Nate commented with a ruffle of his ear, his eyes glossy with tears.“I don’t care about your sexuality. I like you for who you are,” Amber said, nudging his shoulder. “
Amber's POVI reached forward and handed the chef my food card, trying to keep my voice calm even though my heart was going haywire and the smile stretching across my face was impossible to control. “No, you don’t have to,” I beamed, my eyes flickering toward Xavier. “I will pay myself.”The chef hesitated for a beat, glancing between both cards.“Take mine,” I repeated more determinedly.“No, take mine,” Xavier urged, pushing his own card closer. “My card is unlimited.” “Um, I will just take your boyfriend’s,” the chef murmured, reaching for Alpha Xavier’s.A blush tinted the apples of my cheeks. “What?! He…he is not my boyfriend,” I protested, but it was already too late.“Let it go,” Xavier stated, grabbing his card back from the chef like it was nothing. “It’s a little something to win over your heart, soon you will be mine.”“I am already yours, Xavier,” Raven replied in my head. “Say it, girl, this is your chance.”I rolled my eyes and completely ignored her.
