Training.

last update Last Updated: 2025-06-02 15:33:34

I find myself searching for Nathanial, searching the pack grounds and finding nothing. 'Nathanial, you can't keep avoiding me' I send through the link, 'I'm not baby, I promise; just handling some things, we've had the first group of your father's warriors arrive, I'm sorting accommodation' he answers. I sigh, accepting it's not the right time.

I head to the training area, feeling the need for a physical outlet. I find Connor running drills. "Lycan are bigger, so go low" his calling out. Everyone is training in human form, trying out moves to kick the legs out from under each other. It's a smart approach, if working in twos one can bring lycan down in human form while the other finishes them off in wolf form.

I watch, admiring the dedication and focus off the warriors, each one following instructions and mastering their goals quickly.

"Hey Luna" Connor smiles, catching me watching. I smile, approaching him. "Looking good" I comment. "We've tried a few approaches, still trying to fi

  • Conflicted - Twist of Fate.    Reuniting

Nathanial's perspective:It's been two weeks here at the Red Mountain pack and honestly it's the most at peace I have felt in my entire life. The way the pack runs, it's not all about preparing for war it's about peace and harmony. Between the protection the witches offer and the strength of the wolves here they've got protection covered. Especially when most packs don't even know they exist, keeping their business seperate has created something wonderful here. My mother is truly a kind and unique soul. The day she brought me into her home the room had several baby photos of Tristan and I along with candles and special prayer candles for our safety. She shared how she had the witches check in on us and how proud she was of what she heard back. It was hard when I asked why she didn't ever come back, but when she explained her fears it was understandable. She didn't want to hurt us either, but she also apologised because it has always been her biggest regret. My peace however also has

  • Conflicted - Twist of Fate.    Two weeks later.

Tristan: I'm so lost. Armina has barely left our room in the last two weeks. The day she accepted the Queen role I saw the change in her eyes. The packs have returned home, I've been flooded with different requests for funding, assistance with training; horticulture assistance and the lists never seem to end. I was hesitant to take on this role when I thought I'd have Armina by my side, trying to do it without her has been hell. Aiden has tried to speak with her and to be honest has been my sanity during this time. Shayne, recognised the changes and went off to seek answers, worried that either the pregnancy or the new role has played a part in her suddenly distancing herself from all of us. It's not just the distance, it's her eyes, her demeanour, everything. All of the compassion and love she has shown everyone around her has faded. She shows no interest in being around anyone. Myself included at times. I make sure to bring her food, try to encourage her to come outside and be in

  • Conflicted - Twist of Fate.    The Red Mountain Pack. (Nathanial)

Nathanial: We've been travelling for days, everything blurring together. Mira has kept us from running into trouble, using a lot of her power to keep us hidden; our tracks untraceable as we move to what feels like the middle of no where. It's our final stretch, atleast that's what she said this morning before we started off. Croxus is tired, the days spent running; hunting for food and making sure to keep alert for any stray rogues. I feel the change in the environment when we cross the barrier. This is pack lands; I stiffen, Mira gently patting me to let me know to let her down as she jumps to the ground. "We seek an audience with Layla Hurst" she speaks bodly, I feel the wolves circling; several in the trees as Croxus growls, waiting for attack. "Calm Croxus" Mira scolds us, "Tell her that her son Nathanial wishes to speak with her" she continues. Everything is silent. The wolves coming no closer the seconds tick by. Soon it's been over twenty minutes, Croxus becoming restless a

  • Conflicted - Twist of Fate.    The journey forward - Nathanial

Mira has already packed bags, filled with essentials; food, water, clothes. When I look closer I notice the clothes are not just for her, several familiar outfits of mine sitting near the top. "You saw this coming?" I ask, looking at her as her eyes look down. "I see many different pathways, you know this" she states, "It's okay" I find myself responding, "I'm glad you were prepared, I didn't even think of packing" I respond. Pulling the bags over my back, she smiles, "You're taking this a lot better than I thought you would", her tone suprised. "I don't have much choice" I almost laugh, "But thanks to you I'm not completely alone in it all" I answer. I'm truly grateful for her, she's the only friend I have left in this world. "Time to go" her legs moving towards the door. I nod, "How far are we talking?" I ask, "Well that depends on how fast Croxus can run with me on his back" she answers. 'I've got her' Croxus answers, 'I'm sorry' I respond to him, knowing he'd still be hurting.

  • Conflicted - Twist of Fate.    Finding my purpose - Nathanial

Nathanial's perspective: When I stormed out of Eclipse, my mind was racing as I tried my best not to break down in tears as I pushed forward. The only place I know I can go, to see Mira. She was the only one separate to Armina, who would care about my pain and maybe help me see where I can go from here. When I rejected her I expected the bond to break, not the connection to my pack. I guess in a way it confirmed what I already knew, Tristan was the true Alpha, once again I'm just second best. I should have said something when I noticed the changes in her marks, the way she'd avoid my eyes but watch Tristan like the sun revolved around him. I could see the difference from almost the start, yet I'd lost my best friend, my pack and my brother all because of her. My life would have been better if we'd never gone to that stupid summit, Tristan hadn't even wanted too. I pushed it; biggest mistake of my life. Mira is waiting for me outside her home, running forward and throwing her arms

  • Conflicted - Twist of Fate.    The king & queen

Armina's perspective: I'm still in shock as we finish up eating and head down to meet the alphas, Aiden having called a meeting. My heart is still racing, still unable to catch up with the change I'm about to face. 'We were born to lead' Aurora sighs, I look to Tristan, his eyes focused forward, his brows down, causing the little worry mark between his eyes. His just as nervous as I am as we enter the main garden, before us a sight beyond words spreads across the land, thousands of wolves, warriors, alphas, women, covering the entire garden as each one drops to their knees, looking up at me and Tristan. I gasp, I was expecting to meet with the alphas, not to have some kind of weird royal treatment, I turn to Aiden, my eyes widening to see he has also joined the people; bowing. Shayne stands forward, "Armina & Tristan have accepted the roles of King and Queen to the were wolves" his voice booms, as everyone stays kneeling. "While Armina is of royal blood, Tristan is chosen b
