Lahat ng Kabanata ng Conflicted - Twist of Fate. : Kabanata 1 - Kabanata 10

"Freak" a laugh sounds as my shoulder meets my locker. The sharp sting easily shaken off. "Poor little orphan Annie" Serena's voice sounds, her pathetic entourage laughing as she keeps walking. "Can't blame her parents for dumping her, who would want to look at that everyday?" her friend adds, all of them cracking up like it's a clever new joke. Like they haven't made the same jokes; every single day. The same taunts, the same laughs. You'd think they could come up with something more original after all these years. I guess sharing the dozen brain cells between the group doesn't leave much room for creativity. I scoff, ignoring them. 'Please' Aurora begs in my mind. The same way she has since she appeared when I was 14. 'Not yet Aurora; I'm not even meant to have my wolf yet' I remind her. She scoffs; "You can't do this to me forever Armina" retreating to the back of my mind. I hate letting her down everyday. She's been freezing me out more and more, her patience wearing thin as we

"You okay?" Aiden looks down at me concerned, "Yes I just didn't think they'd pair me with her at the start, I thought they'd start lower" I'm surprised to hear Aiden start laughing, his body shaking as he chuckles. "Your act of throwing fights really hasn't fooled everyone." I shake my head in disbelief, "What do you mean?" Aiden smiles, looking at me like the answer is obvious. "You may always lose, but you are never badly beaten, you heal quickly and put up a decent fight. Your teachers see potential, they are not stupid Armina" I look back down at my feet. Aiden had asked me not to stand out too much. Scared at what it would mean if my abilities were made on show for all to see, clearly I'd failed to follow his instructions. This is a mistake. I can't do this. 'No Armina, holding back was a mistake' Aurora states, 'enough is enough, this day decides our entire future' her voice angry. 'I could almost understand hiding while you were still a child but that's over now. It'

After what feels like an eternity of my former classmates pretending to be happy for me, people who have barely spoken to me for years coming over to congratulate me. We are finally able to head home, my brain still trying to process the huge changes to my life in just a few short hours. 'You did it, Armina' Aurora beams inside my head, 'This is who we have always meant to be' I try to agree with her, try to bury the lingering doubt I can't seem to bury completely. Along with the fear. 'We did it' I remind her, 'While in my eyes mostly you' I laugh to her, she disagrees but we let it go as we walk. Aiden is quiet on the walk, giving me time to process. He knows me well. Knows I have never been great with change and today has been overwhelming. The moment he opens the door, I start walking towards the bathroom. A shower and a nap sound like the best plan to me, a chance to disconnect and absorb the day. "I'm going to order some Chinese food, eat before your nap" I smile, unsur

When I arrive home Aiden isn't home. I take this as a chance to look through the book. I skim, looking for references to the Destiny Wolves. It doesn't take long to find the first passage referencing them, yet already my nerves are set on fire. 'With more power than one wolf should possess, the destiny wolves can either be the savour or destruction of the wolves as a species. The only wolves capable of beating the Lycan's, the Destiny Wolves are coveted by all packs, with even the Lycan's willing to accept them as a chosen mate' I shut the book. I can't. If I keep reading now, I will make myself fear everyone at the summit. I pack the book in the suitcase ready for Sunday. Tomorrow I need to ensure I am not only ready to go, but also prepare to face Aiden. I shower, trying to keep my mind blank as I go on robot mode, putting myself to bed. I need to be ready, and having a good sleep could only benefit. Tomorrow I need to not only be ready to go, but also explain this all to Ai

When I finally finish in the shower and re-enter my room, I hear a gentle knock. Wearing nothing but my dressing gown and underwear underneath I open the door to find Leon. "What do you need?" I ask, turning to continue towel drying my hair. "I wanted to check on you" he states, closing the door. I see his eyes wandering over my legs, my gown slightly open to show my cleavage. I'm very gifted in that area, which I normally hide under baggy hoodies. His eyes are full of lust as he tries to regain himself, shaking his head to clear what I'm sure are dirty thoughts. I turn away and pull my gown closed, wanting to avoid any confusion or mislead him. "I'll be okay, Leon," I state, surprised that a small part of me was enjoying his wandering eyes. I feel my skin warm under his gaze. As I turn back to him, I find myself biting my lip as I take in his handsome features. He really is 100% sex on legs, the way his lips curve with the cocky smile, I can see why all of the girls at school chase h
