Confrontation at the Warehouse
Roman's POV
The sharp ringing tone of my phone awakened me from sleep, as if I was poured some cold water. I searched for it even before opening my eyes, and when I found it, I squinted at the bright screen to know the caller.
Rose's name flashed, and a mix of worry and warmth washed over me instantly.
"Hey," I answered, my voice still rough with sleep.
"Roman," Rose's voice came through, a blend of relief and frustration. "I've been waiting for you to call back but you haven't. Is everything okay?" She asked in her usual worrisome manner.
I sat up, rubbing my eyes. "I'm sorry, Rose. Things have been... demanding. I should have called." I apologized.
"It's alright," she said softly. "How's it going there? Any progress?" She asked curiously.
I leaned back against the headboard, trying to organize my thoughts. "Leighton's bride is feeling better, thankfully. The Lunas are still in custody, and we had a meeting with their alphas yesterday. T
