Ryker

I watched from the car as that Adam kid ran his hands over her body. It made me sick to my stomach to see him touch her. I watched as he tried to kiss her. She shot him down and something stirred inside of me, but I chose to ignore it. When she headed up the stairs alone, I got mad again. How could he let her walk off alone like that? What was wrong with these young men? When she reached the top of the stairs I jumped out of the car. She saw me coming and her eyes got wide. "Hello Iris," I said walking up to her. "What are you doing here professor?" She asked quietly. "You shouldnt be walking around out here this late so I stopped my driver when I saw you." I said softly. I was trying to stay cool, but it was hard. "I think I will be okay , but thank you for stopping." She said with a small attitude forming. I stopped and turned towards her. "I can give you a ride to your dorm if you would like?" I said flatly. "I can walk." She looked up at me making complete eye contact. "Please let me take you to your room, it really isnt safe for pretty girls walking that far this late." I said a little more firmly. If she had were mine, I would bend her over my knee right here in the parking lot. "Fine." She said stomping off toward my car. The driver got out and opened the door for her. I climbed in on the other side. "Why?" She said sharply as soon as I entered. "Why what Iris?" I said softly looking at her lips. Thin-lined and angry. "Why did you come looking for me? Did you wait up here for me? Were you watching me?" She spat out each question angrily. "Calm down Iris," I said sternly. She sucked in air hearing the change in my voice. "I came to look for you because you didn't answer me. I waited to make sure you went home sober, and safe. I always take interest in my students well being." I wasn't going to lie to her completely. You don't gain trust from someone with lies. She was quiet.

I messaged the driver telling him to go around the the long way to her dorm. I couldn't let her leave this car pissed off at me. She wouldn't come to our next meeting. I would lose any chance of being close to her. "Iris?" I said trying to get her to say something. "I don't understand." She finally said softly. I reached over and moved a stray hair from her face, sliding it behind her ear. "What don't you understand?" I asked leaning close to her ear. "Why me?" She turned to look at me not realizing how close I was to her. My lips were inches from hers. "You are intelligent Iris. You caught my eye the day you came on campus. You're different." I said resisting the temptation to kiss her. I cant do this. I have to let her know who I am first. My interest. My expectations. I leaned back away because being too close was intoxicating. "What do you want from me?" She asked. Smart sweet girl knowing I am not like other men. Other professors. There is something more I want. Something different. Something darker. I took a deep breath. I wasn't ready to have this conversation with her yet, so I was vague. "I just want to make you my new assitant as Kate is moving on to another class. I want to be your mentor." I said trying not to reveal anything more that I was feeling. I couldn't see her well in the darkness of the car. Only parts of her when the light would shine in. After a few moments, she spoke in almost a whisper, "You want to mentor me, thats all?" I laughed, startling her. "I'm sorry Iris, I am not laughing at you. You're so sweet. Yes I want to mentor you. I want to get to know you." I left it at that. She nodded from what I could tell but she didn't speak. We pulled up in front of her dorm, but she didn't jump out quickly she just stared at the door.

"I feel something more here, right? You are being very passive, but I can feel it in the way you look at me, and the way you speak to me. I may be innocent, but I am not incompetent." She was offended. These young girls are not very thick-skinned. "Iris," I said reaching for her hand, " I am not saying your stupid. My personality and life is hard to explain. Sometimes it's harder for some to understand. I don't want to push it at you. It's more of a one-step-at-a-time thing."  I said sternly again. Letting her know I wasn't treating her like she was stupid. She opened her door and looked back towards me. The light from the street light created a glow around her. Almost on impulse she shut the door again and leaned over kissing me. "I don't know why you have this effect on me. I have never felt it before. I'm drawn to you Ryker. I will meet your car for dinner tomorrow. Please think about explaining all your vague comments to me." She squeezed my hand before exiting my car. I sat there trying to catch my breath. It's not often that a woman takes my breath away like that. I stay in control for a reason. It took me a while to shake it off. "Take me home Deacon," I said talking to my driver. He nodded and pulled away from the dorm after she was safely inside. I pulled out my phone trying to think of what to send to her. I wanted to tell her that I wanted to make her mine, but I didn't want to rush into it. I don't want to creep her out. I don't want to scare her off. She doesn't understand what she is asking me for. I looked out the window gripping my phone tight in my hand. I watched as the trees passed by like shadow creatures along the road. I lived a good bit away from the campus. I never wanted to live there. I needed to separate myself and my lifestyle from my job. What was I doing with this young girl, my student? Why didn't I just head back to the club? I needed to stay away from her. I know I can't now, not since I tasted her lips. Soft sweet lips, surrounded by softer bright angel skin. No, I cant stay away.

We pulled up to my house and I dismissed Deacon until morning. I walked to the front door, entering into my dark empty home. It wasn't a large place, I didn't need one for just me. I had two rooms. One for me to sleep in, and one for my baby girls. I had a modern kitchen and a dining room with a small table.  A master bathroom with a garden tub, and a shower. My shower was specially built for me. Lots of places to sit and rails to hold on to. My bed was specially built also, with hooks and posts and straps. I had built-in bondage. How do I explain that to someone like Iris, someone so innocent? Why was I craving her so badly? I walked in and placed my things on the bar in my kitchen. I poured a glass of vodka with some ice and headed to my bedroom. I took off my shoes and slid them in their place. I sat my drink down and began undressing. By the time I reached my shower, I was completely naked, everything where it should be. I was particular about where my things went. OCD, I was told. I got into my shower and sat down on the bench. I closed my eyes and enjoyed the hot water. What am I going to do about her? Can I really bring her here? Will she accept this? Will she accept me? I stood up, washed my body and my hair, rinsed off and stepped out. After I was dressed I grabbed my drink and phone before sitting down on my bed. I went to my messages and pulled up her name. What was I going to say to her? I looked down realizing I had a message from her. I downed the drink.

I will be here at six waiting for my ride. Let me know if the car is coming.

-IRIS

I sat there staring at the message. She was eager but she still didn't know what she was facing. I am not a boyfriend. I am not a date. I am a dom. I will tell her what she can do, and who she can do it with. I will give her a health requirement. I will make her drink water and give up her Red Bull. I will make her eat three healthy meals a day. I will make her crazy with pleasure. She will be mine. I am possessive. I am jealous. I am intense. I am rough. I am hard. I am stern. Strict. I am everything that Adam guy is not. Maybe I should just allow her to date this normal young man, her age. Could I watch that? Could I watch him touch her in class, knowing she should be mine?   I hit reply.

The car will be there, do not be late. He will not wait for you. I don't like tardiness Iris. We have much to discuss? I will bring the mentorship paperwork.

-Ryker

I sat my cup down before laying back on my bed. I couldn't talk to her about this in a restaurant nearby. People couldn't see her shifty and nervous with her professor in public. I won't let her risk her career for me. That will be made clear to her.  I can lose this job, I have money and a law degree.

Yes. Thats fine. Goodnight professor.

-IRIS

I smirked laying my phone on my nightstand. Goodnight sweet Iris

IRIS I swallowed deeply when I heard the name. That man was terrifying. Claud. Flashes of the wicked smile he had on his face when abusing me were stuck in my mind. He wanted to hurt me. I looked from face to face, looking for answers in their eyes. No one said anything. Theo reached over for my hand, and I saw Ryker flinch when I took it. I was terrified. I didn’t care whose hand I held if someone was keeping me safe. Deacon was on the phone immediately asking the guys in security to trace and follow the call. Theo pulled out his phone as well, calling his contact to find out what he could do from his side. I closed my eyes. “Tell me where you are mother fucker, don’t be afraid, I wanna chat.” Ryker sounded murderous. I closed my eyes and focused on my breathing. I felt tears burning in my eyes, but I wasn’t sure if it was from fear, anger, or sadness. I had a mixture of them brewing inside of me. “Ryk?” I said softly looking up at him. He calmed. Instead of cursing into the phone he

IrisThe darkness in his eyes when I asked him about his name told me more than his words did. “Its my last name.” He was short and stern with his response, but his eyes told me the most. Lorcane was like his shadow person, the darkness inside of him. The person they all see as dangerous. The one who was violent and cold. Lorcane was someone I have only seen pieces of. He is a prosecutor, but I am starting to think at this point he also played executioner. What I wasn’t sure of was if he still played that role. A lot of what I knew about him, the powerful, well managed, prosecutor turned professor was not who I thought he was. Not as disciplined. Not as in control. “I am not an idiot Ryker.” I said winching as I tried to sit up straight. “I know you aren’t Iris, but I also know I don’t know everything about your past.” His words burned some. His emotional state when he walked in had now turned. He was now defensive and guarded. I am sure he has questions about me, I know he is wonderin

RykerI listened as Deacon talked but the world was spinning around me. I had downed more of that whiskey bottle, and the last one, than he knew. Way more than I was willing to admit to. “Ill drive.” I said, grabbing my keys, knowing inside that I shouldn’t do that. That was the good thing about Deacon. He worked for me, yes, but he also knew how to stand up to me. Not a lot of people did that. He was one of the very few that was permitted to do so. I shook my head when he reached for my keys. “I want her to know that it is me coming for her.” I said in a drunken stupor. I sounded like an idiot. Emotional and irrational. I didn’t know what real love looked like, not loving a woman like this. I believe I have loved before. I thought I loved Ivy at one point. I know I love Deacon, like family. This love was messy, hard, and could destroy me in an instant. It made me open, raw, and vulnerable. Deacon was looking at me differently. I don’t think he was losing respect for me; I think he was

DeaconHe didn’t speak all the way back to the city. He didn’t want to. He decided to leave Iris at Ayden’s clinic, and not give her a chance to say anything. He wants to keep her safe. I disagree with him, horribly, but he will not listen to me. I can't say anything. It isn't my place to do so. He went straight to his house shutting the door behind him. The lights were still off. He hadn’t even turned on a lamp. I knew he was sitting in the dark, drinking his whiskey, and sulking in there all alone. I stood outside the security building and stared towards the house. Part of me wanted to go check on him, but part of me knew better. He wouldn’t even answer the door, I am sure. I stood there, leaning against the brick, watching for any movement. My phone dinged taking my attention away from the front door. I reached in my pocket and pulled it out. Check on her. Make sure she is okay. Let me know. -LorcaneHe hadn’t addressed himself as Lorcane in a long time. He was in a very dark plac

IRIS The lights burned my eyes, bright and surprising as I tried to open my eyes. I closed them multiple times trying to adjust to the lights. I couldn't hear anything but machines running around me. The sound of air blasting somewhere and beeping, so much beeping. My head felt like it was going to explode. I heard mumbling, angry mumbling, in weirdly hushed voices. I tried to speak but felt like something was choking me. I tried to move my arms, but someone was holding them down. Tears started to sting my already burning eyes. I started to breathe harder, and the beeping got louder. I felt a hand on mine, and I slightly turned my head. “Iris, calm down. Please, baby, you have to calm down.” Ryker was talking to me softly, bending over now to look into my eyes. He wiped a tear away from my eyes. I blinked twice, like I had seen on television medical shows, to let him know I couldn't calm down. I needed to know what was going on. I needed to be able to speak. “Iris, you were sho

RYKER I watched as she fell to the floor, the color leaving her face almost instantly. I heard someone scream but it sounded as if it was coming through a tunnel. Echoed, and mumbled. Deacon ran to her as I stood frozen. My side burned some, but I couldn't pay attention to that. What was probably only a few seconds felt like hours while I waited for her to open her eyes. “Iris? Keep your eyes open.” Deacon talked to her calmly. I stood there willing my legs to move. “Ryker, call an ambulance.” He yelled at me; I knew what he was saying but I still couldn't budge. He stood up, walking towards me, the closer he got the blurrier he was. He hit me hard, open handed across the face. “Ryker, snap the fuck out of it! I need your help.” He begged. He was shaken, but still calm. Deacon was great under high pressure. I usually was too. I don't know what has happened to me. This woman has changed my whole being. I walked over, suddenly more conscious, but still panicked. I kneeled down beside I
